There has been probably a leak from Psytronik side and this seems to be happening quite often now. Hope Kenz will explain this and how this version got even released, since it wasn't the final one.

It seems Psytronik put it out for sale at midnight, Wanax (even if ons must have had it before that if you look at what has been done in their version). I would say you talk to Psytronik, as it seems they (or someone else involved in the game making) 1. leaked, 2. are selling your unfinished game. Just my 5c.

Are you asking why crackers are allowed to be crackers? :D
They are even fine enough to not leave the link publicly visible, what do you want more.

Guys...Platman World is not finished yet, there are several bugs in the game map. Anyway who's allowing this?

How do you guys have this, if the coder is still working on it? Are you having access to files you shouldn't have and if that's the case, who's allowing this? |

Just to be clear on what happened is that Psytronik, as far as I understand, has released on old version of Platman Worlds, which is still in the process of being tested.
On top of that, the old files went into ONS hands, showing clearly a leak from Psy side, which hopefully Kenz will explain. |

Sorry guys, this was an honest mistake on my part. I thought the game was finished and as people who had pre-ordered it were desperate to play it over the UK bank holiday I rushed out this release, thinking it was the finished game.
Luckily, no physical versions have shipped yet so it's not too late to fix the final bugs for the final release.
My apologies for the mix-up. I've removed the itch.io version from sale until the game is good and ready. This only happened as I was juggling three simultaneous releases - but I guess I'm not a very good juggler ... ! |

Thanks for clarifying, Kenz. However, how come a release like this one goes straight into ONS, without not even agreeing it with the coder? |

As I said, it was a rushed release. I was under pressure for download links from people who pre-ordered it and so mistakes were made with the final release. I will be more careful in future to ensure this won't happen again. |

Platman World is in development for almost a year, and is coded only in my spare time...
What happened it bothers me :-/ |

hey Wanax.
first of all thanks for spending your spare time in coding cool games!!!
what happened should not bother you that much: you do a game, it gets introlinked, it doesn't matter if game is great or shitty... sad but true.
only solution: add a copy-protection!! :P |

I think Dr.Strange pointed out the problem, which is not that the game was cracked. The question was how crackers was able to get the unfinished game long before Psytronik released it (too soon it seems), without the coder's involvement. That is of course a question that Wanax and Psytronik have to deal with. Kenz seems to avoid that question in public, which might be understandable. |

Somehow reminds me of the discussion about Honey Bee +3D [sales version] ;)
BTW. Copy protection just delays the release a bit. |

Nah. Big difference. We actually bought and got the game from Psy. |

ah ok. if that was the question then Ian Coog already answered it. :) |

Yeah Wanax, don't worry - cracks are anyway only for folks you are too dumb to play w/o trainers, like me - but that doesn't prevent me from buying the original.
And the leakage, while annoying, could be seen as a compliment as well - they wanna play the game so hard that they even accept a buggy beta. :) |

This once is over so...Unfortunately :-)
It has already happened with Akalabeth World of Doom a similar thing... But I did not expect with Psytronik.
I hope to have more luck the next time :-)

a proper protection would require actual crackers to get active again though :) |

A 2017 release with proper copy protection would be *awesome* :) |

I don't think the copy protection is the issue here. If you are getting stuff in advance from the software house with all indications, there's no challenge. And that's the real problem. |
