- The World Famous Dynamic Duo
AKA:
Dynamic Duo
Founded by :
The Executor & The Dark Angle in 1985
Dissolved in :
1988
Group Type :
Cracker Group
Base Country :
Germany
Trivia :
The Dynamic Duo was a group made up of two friends from Holzwickede near Dortmund, Germany.
The two guys were Hans-Jürgen Grahl (The Executor - org, gfx, spreading) and Robin Wünderlich (The Dark Angle - code, crack).
The group was formed in 1985, and was one of the best and most active groups in 1986 with lots of releases like Ghosts 'n Goblins, Green Beret, Super Cycle, Alley Cat, 10th Frame.
The two friends originally had no contacts and all their spreading was handled by Headbanger (Georg Panagiatidis) from Dinslaken, Germany and his two copy-slaves Krabat and Syntax 2001, who did most of his work for him!
The group finally disbanded in 1988 and The Dark Angle went on to cracking on the Amiga, under Quartex.
I am not 100% sure, but chances are he was known under the handle "Rob" there in 1989... The two also wrote the game "Thunderboy" for Rainbow Arts on the Amiga.
Some time after this The Executor founded the software import and reseller firm "Dynatex" (DYNAmic Duo/quarTEX - no joke! - http://www.dynatex.de), which he
eventually sold to another company in February of 2000.
Sadly The Executor had a car accident later in the year, leaving him in a comatose state which he will likely never wake from :(

| AFAIK this group got busted around 1987/1988 and they stopped all activities. Lived about 50km away from them and got some contacts 1988/1989 in Holzwickede who told me so. |

| They were plainly excellent. It is very surprising for me that they only worked for a couple of years only. I had so many games with their simple and supercool DD intro with that short Hubbard tune... |

| Hello, in about 1987 I heard on a conference call that Headbanger moved to florida to meet a girl he met on a conference call. Is that a fact ? Marcel FAC |

There have always been The Executor and Dark Angle as members. In December 1986 AMAdeus & Drago of New Balance joined Dynamic-Duo and left DD in January 1987 again.
That's the complete all-time memberlist.
Greetz!

I just fixed the Info here, cause Dynamic Duo consists only of The Executor & The Dark Angle. The guys mentioned HJG and RW are identical to them.
But there's still one more member mentioned. TMT - I would say that's not correct as the only additional members have been Drago & Amadeus (our old The Movers mates) just for some days only. Will try to get more info on that.

That group was my heros! For me the best european cracker group at that time! You alwayls could say, if the game was cracked by D&D that the game was good. I dont saw a bad game cracked by them. And they was very fast. On Quakenet is a funny channel from D&D. Topic is: "We are dead, so what you want?"
For most people was ESI the idols, for me was it Dynamic Duo. |
