Mad Aussie Dealers   (MAD)

AKA:
Mad Crew ; M.A.D

Founded by :
Jaguar in 1987

Dissolved in :
1991

Group Types :
Demo Group, Cracker Group, Graphics Group, Hacker Group, Import Group, Swapping Group

Base Country :
Australia

Trivia :
There were only a few Brisbane based groups at the time, so we decided to Start M.A.D at the end of '87. At the time there were only 2 main groups in Queensland being M.A.D & Q.C.F

The very first M.A.D demo was called "Project Mad" and was made in very early '89 by Louie the Fly. It was the first and only thing he ever released, but he was probably the best programmer in the group.

The group's peak was late '89 to mid '90s with Jaguar and Orpheus doing the bulk of demo releases during that time and Jaguar doing heavy world wide trading in that same period.

M.A.D finally died in '91 due to lack of interest.

Zentradi & Orpheus (both coders from Bendigo) joined M.A.D at the same time (June/July 89') but it was a tentative membership as the bulk of the existing members wanted to keep the group members in QLD with only Jaguar supporting the new Victorian members.
Around Sept 89 Zentradi was kicked out of the group for inactivity (lack of releases) leaving only Orpheus as the only non Queensland member of the group.
Zentradi went on to found Celtic (Australia).

Jaguar - I thought the group started in EARLY 89? If you look back in your demo 'Cold As Ice' you give a history of M.A.D, there you also reference the start as 89'
