B.U.D.S.   (BUDS)

AKA:
Brain Using Demo Section

Founded by :
Maduplec & Overall in June 1989

Dissolved in :
1992

Group Type :
Demo Group

Base Country :
Denmark

Trivia :
The Brain Using Demo Section of NATO (...it was still called BUDS when Maduplec left NATO and joined Crest)

Was formed after Noise split up.

B.U.D.S. was more like a trademark for Maduplec's best work, than an actual group (see scroll in Dodger)

In the first scrolltext in Dodger and Matcher, Maduplec writes this: "If you vote for this demo vote only for Maduplec or Nato. Please don´t vote for the BUDS, as it´s only a trademark I use................................"

------------------------------------------

From http://www.funet.fi/pub/cbm/c64/demos/pal/Nato/index.html :

In the period summer 1989 to summer 1992 the BUDS (Brain Using Demo section) produced 8 demos for NATO. Starting with Wraxirmer 5, later came Twister, Catcher, Wriggler, Tripler, Matcher, Dodger and finally the BUDS demo.
BUDS started with Overall and Maduplec as members, but after the first demo "Wraxirmer 5", Overall stopped his activities. Maduplec then coded the rest of the demos with graphics from friends and exclusive sound-tracks supplied by the Vibrants. However, in the last couple of demos, all graphics and music was made by Maduplec.
NATO and BUDS stopped producing demos when Maduplec and the other remaining danish members (Tiger/Nato etc.) joined Crest in 1992 when NATO was dissolved.
Nato can be reached via Maduplec/Crest a.k.a. Martin Arentoft.
