I don't watch a lot of demos these days, but I watched this one and don't regret how I spent those minutes! Good nostalgic design with just the right amount of concept and direction to hold it all together, and a surprising amount of effects. Figge's soundtrack felt maybe a bit like him on autopilot, and there were a few visible bugs that were a bit distracting, but overall I find this kind of "indie demo" a lot more enjoyable than I do the four diskside AAA productions. Thank you!

An extremly nice demo. Personally, I don't think that it's "out of time" due to its main focus on rasters - to the opposite, it shows how to give the maybe oldest effect of'em all a modern glance!

What stands out for me is the grey rasters over the reddish ones, that slip through the gaps. Gave me a similar feeling like the double tunnel in one of Oswalds demos.

And yes, Trident seems to be on a very good "coding drug" ;) Thanks for the demo!

I didn't know I like rasterbars so much. These come full screen superpaced and well aligned with a tune that fits really well. A demo where you wouldn't notice space was broken.

Wacek, my only true love. I wasnt the biggest fan most of the raster effects either, the ones I listed arent made of rasters. Also the bar is set much lower for such a 'filler' demo for me, not AAA still some nice and innovative effects, really nicely put together. But not in the same league as E2IRA ;)

love xoxoxo

Great work, Fairlight, really nice.

Everything we do on C64 is retro/nostalgia.. so the arguments about it being from the wrong decade are moot. The effects here are pure coding delight - which is the best sort of demo for me, whether it’s the 21st or 20th century. I realise my taste isn’t a popular one of late - but I’d personally rather see these than the anim/story demos we’ve seen of late ;-)

Very entertaining and colourful! \o/
Maybe fallen out of time but retro is in fashion... and rasterbars are never out of fashion. ;-)

Wacek might be right - this might be from the wrong decade, but we are all from the wrong decade so it might just as well be perfectly in line with what we want to have. I think it's a super nice effort!

Progressive, regressive, I mean, this was a great show anyway, well done!

Sorry to be honest, I hope nobody will get offended as this has nothing to do with appreciating the effort put into doing any demo, but this is totally not my taste.
Quoting HCL: "...all in the right place", except the demo is in the wrong decade. And reading comments about "truly innovative ideas" for the demo based on splits and rasters... made me smile how some of us have different definitions of innovation. For me, doing dycp/dypps or whatever in 2023 is regressive, not progressive, and I don't have a problem to say that openly only because this is a demo by Fairlight or anyone else for that matter.
