Core effect's been working since the 19th of July, but I noticed I still had a little over a kb of ram left, along with three bytes wastage in each character definition.

"I Kissed a Girl" was playing on at the café I was at when I got it working, and the tune suited my mood, so I spent a week doing a cover (no room for the bridge I'm afraid). Even had enough CPU time left for a 2x routine, which I needed for the drum if not for the fairly simplistic lead and base. (not enough space for wavetables on the lead)

So by then the executable used all the ram from $200 to $ff6a. Crunching that with my own cruncher left me just enough room between 0x080f and $1351 for a credit screen.

The decruncher occupies around 150bytes of zp while decrunching.
0xxx xxxx ->precedes 1 to 127 bytes of literals
11xx xxxx ->copy two bytes from up to 64 bytes in the past
10xx xxxx xxxx xxxx -> copy between 1 and 32 bytes from up to 512 bytes in the past
