Well, I guess there is no "wrong" way to interpret art. This one isn't straight forward and I find it interesting how it can be interpreted.

Challenging and question our personal beliefs when being confronted with thoughts that we can not easily understand seems to be a good thing for me. Before going on my "DuckDuckGo" journey on researching technology scepticism or even rejection that lead to this "remix" I never heard of the luddite movement.

And as a technology enthusiast spending much of my time in a technology enthusiast realm like demoscene I think it's good to remind ourselves that "man is the driving force of history" (as one of my philosophy professors used to say).

"the hand with which you kill is the hand with which you hold" ( https://youtu.be/L5M6-Nlt3MU )

If there's a part of the texts I recited in this demo that I'd personally 100% subscribe to than that would be: "Take responsibility, now." :-)

Guess I interpreted the art the "wrong" way?

@acrouzet: what "call for neo-ludism"? (I was about to explain why I copy / pasted the texts in that order, but I think it would spoil the fun for death of the author* fans.)

*not that I am the author of any of that. That's just copy / pasted texts from Wikipedia and some article on some website ;-)

The call for "neo-luddism" is a bit questionable to me.

@4gentE: yeah, I kind of fucked up at that scroller and was also surprised how fast it was with just 1px / frame. I even started with 2px / frame. Could have saved me a lot of headaches knowing that .5px / frame would be sufficent with all that damn scrolltext read and then copy to chars and then copy to the right sprite positions stuff that has to go on in the background.

In the end I didn't even manage to split everything properly as there's a frame drop every now and then.

I love this! …tho I gotta admit I’m a little retarded, so the text scrolls just a tad too fast for me. But luckily it wraps. Thanks for that, is it Christmas?

Whoa, stop a bit right here! Did I just spot Zardax moonlighting as a secret agent in the last screen of the demo? I mean, I knew he hold some cool superpowers and moves, but turning Asian? That's next-level espionage right there. Jesus Jerusalem, you sly dog, you're either a master of disguise or the C64's newest art wizard.

Are you trying to turn this into a game of Where's Waldo? ...or Spot Zardax the Spy?
