@G-Fellow: I am able to code an intro (PETSCII with SID), but I can't code a scroller yet :(

Quit talking about the SID - what about the demo?

As odd as it sounds - looks close to some demo maker thing even though there are "special fx" included. :(

thx, iAN, though I forgot most of it, somehow that fixing story rang a bell/sounded like a dejavu to me, I've already compared new rip with current HVSC, also only detected the s(h)aved bytes and wondered a lot, good to be remembered I contributed to fixing it 11 years ago :D IIRC based on Zyron's rip for The Mark Cooksey Collection or some other collection

Unlike iAN, I appreciate even the 100-something bytes you found, so thx 4 sharing/sparing others to cut them off, but for real, if you don't update your HVSC (for whatever reason) or are unsure if you got the latest, then just leech the stuff directly from CSDb, i.e. click Ghosts'n Goblins check info and/or click there https://hvsc.csdb.dk/MUSICIANS/C/Cooksey_Mark/Ghosts_n_Goblins... and you always have the latest rip in HVSC

"toxic removed the data garbage from this sid, it is now more compact"

Well, ok, you shaved few bytes from 4998 to 4839, not a big deal anyway.

"the sid no longer overwrites the memory area $c000"

You must have forgot to update HVSC in a long time because the sid tune got fixed in december 2013 (update 60) by Zyron and TheRyk
It's already selfcontained without copy loops and relocatable (try sidreloc with it) since a long time =)
