Summary
Submitted by Mermaid on 4 January 2008
The forest was a happy place, filled with magical flowers and fluffy animals so cute you'd get diabetes if you stared at them for too long. Okay, so admittedly there had been that incident with the two kids who disappeared in the vincinity of old Ms. Grimbladder's cottage, but she had never been proven guilty...and anyway, the woman had long since moved to the big city and was now baking big money as a gingerbread skyscraper constructor.

Her moving away had left an opening in the witching business in the forest, and a young witch named Gwynda was at this very moment moving into the old cottage. "What a stroke of luck", she thought to herself as she dragged the last suitcase up the chocolate stairs. She had not exactly been the best in her class at Schnitzelberg magical college (no talent for magic, her teacher had said), and now here she was... Newly graduated, hardly as much as a wrinkle or wart on her face, just 124 years old, and already she had a decent job and a place of her own! The house wasn't too bad, she'd just have to bake a new roof and make some marzipan curtains for the bedroom and it'd be as good as new. Yes, the future looked brighter than ever.

Further into the forest however, on the top of a steep hillside, was a wizard's tower. And the wizard who lived inside it was not happy at all, he was upset. Very upset...
