Interesting. It seems to me this year's Sid Compo is much more melodic than before. I'm not too much into the 'hardrock' sound but this is a very nice track with appealing melodies. Congrats! =)

i was usually tired with the raw sounds in lasse's tunes but this time i'm really impressed. in the beginning of the competition i even thought he would win in my book. eventually, darkening ended up 4th right after orcan ;)

Though it wasn't on my 1st place in the voting sheet, i do think this is a great piece of hard rock tune.

I immediately knew it was cadaver, his awesome raw sounds and hard rock.

I was constantly expecting bruce dickinson to jump in the room and start rocking to this sid.

I agree with you Randall. I'm really losing my religion whenver I see how sceners (and people in general) behave when they think that noone will see their actions. E.g. when I see who of people I met personally and who pretended to be nice, downvoted me just to get higher in the charts etc. The worst think about is that I can't do anything about it just shut up and play that everything is allright. But it isn't. Fortunately there is still a lot of sincere and straightforward people in the scene (including you Randall) and I'm glad that such people exist because that gives me energy.

Thanks for comments guys. This one was done in absolute hurry, just before NaNoWriMo was about to start, and composing and it are definitely not compatible.. I guess the urgency helped to reach for classic Ocean gamemusic motifs :)

Cadaver, I have to admit that this tune is a BIG surprise for anyone. Don't care about downvoting this tune, it's just a fabulous contribution to the scene and you have definatley deserved the first position. In my opinion, there are too less SIDs with real Soul put in it today, but "Darkening" proves that there are still some ppl out who do SID by heart.

anyone who downvotes this is retarded even more than i am. comment follows: these days, i rarely play air guitar while listening to sidmusic, but 'darkening' made me feel much younger (thus, sexually inexperienced... i'd better stop here)

Wonderful intro and very good tune overall, Cadaver. The intro part plays inside my head again and again all the time since I have listened to it.
