This toolpack contains some of the best scene-based graphic-editors around. After fiddling around a bit with them, I found out that the hires editor really is an appealing one.

Compared to the other available hires-editors, the only ones beating the functions of this one are Grahams old Hi-Pic Creator V1.0, Technoirs Interpaint V1.0+ and good old Art Studio V1.1. This hires-editor is far more flexible though, and not as bloated as any of the above mentioned programs. It is even smoother than the even more barebones Hires Editor V1.5.

Full respect for this release. Just like with Flick0r V1.1 and Pixel Perfect V1.1, another fullblown C-64 based graphics editor have been released. The really nice thing about FunkPaint, though, is the support for REU for undo and the mousesupport. Very nice and polished interface, and a wonderful idea to use the same framework for both a hires, multicolor, MCI and DTV editor.

If I would add some criticism, the interaction between the user and the program could be looked into, and the zoomed area is a little small. I haven't played around with it enough to see how it handles colorclashes / colorexchanges. The handling of which one is the bitmapcolor and which color is the backgroundcolor didn't seem to oobvious in the hiresversion.

Seems to work in PAL/NTSC, thanks! Not that it matters to anyone but me. :-D
