Wild Warez   (Wild Wares)

BBS Type :
Illegal, Wares

Trivia :
aka "Mayhem North"

Wild Warez was voted #1 BBS in the scene, for many years consistently. All the newest releases went here first. It was a special prestige for groups to release their cracks here, even before releasing to their own boards. Wild Warez was the greatest 64 BBS of all time.

Mustang's update (me): Smuggler's Inn became HQ however it was only due to overflow. Wild Warez was so busy and everyone in the world competed to get their warez to WW first. Mayhem decided to try and alleviate traffic from WW and named Smuggler's Inn Mayhem's "HQ". Smuggler's Inn was always busy due to the success of Wild Warez. All credit to Wild Warez. I stopped running Smuggler's Inn once the Amiga was released and Wild Warez carried on and once again was designated as "HQ" in 1989 but WW was always the real HQ. WW was the best BBS for the scene ever.

Seems when Mayhem was on Wild Warez, it was supporter only most of the time, but in the end of the group's lifetime (early 1989) it became hq.
