Heh, only 1 rule (30 seconds) and most participants broke that rule. You can come back now Fredrik, the results are in. Congrats to Jammer.

@Richard, my second tune ("Awaiting") is missing in your voting site?

Oh Fredrik where are thou?

User Comment
Submitted by Jammer on 4 November 2014

But seriously - it's sad given that really big names take their part and 5 awesome entries from Drax is really something. Fredrik, come here! :P

Sadly, I agree.

It's not about results, dude ;) When one comes up with compo, it should be held with a minimum of interest and responsibility, no matter how fun and spontaneous it is ;) Let's throw a party but fuck the guests and let them do whatever they want :D

Richard put some effort into a dedicated web, came up with voting system, established clear compo rules and did write anything in the comment section. That no one gave a fuck after voting - well, it happens. But he made it look like a compo at least! ;)

Fuk, sorry forgot there are two "charts" on here. So in 'CSDb rating prize' votes as said, and 'Public prize'

1. Mermaid
2. Drax
3. Linus

There,sorted :))

@Jamma, assuming the compo title hasn't changed to "The Best Drax shortie compo" you see the votes:

1. Drax
2. Jammer
3. Kristian

Wish I could do a jinle.. :P

True story, m8 ;) Pity that some compos are left to death then :P

User Comment

amount of tunes submitted to such compos nowadays is beyond my wildest dreams of c64 music scene activity. 8-o

User Comment
Submitted by Hate Bush on 3 November 2014
if this compo was closed today and based on csdb votes, the top five would be all Thomas Mogensen (with Kamil Wolnikowski as a close contestant for 5th place). not that i would be unhappy or surprised with that ;)

Game over... Game over, man!!!

Game Over?

User Comment
Submitted by freℚvibez on 21 October 2014
DRAX, I like the idea, but even then I guess the tunes would each have a different number of votes. But maybe the differences then wouldn't be that drastic.

I'd also like to have a voting period where the tunes are shown anonymous, that is without any names/credits. But I can't really see how this could be achieved, as the prgs and sids contain all those information (which of course is a good thing).

Submitted by DRAX on 21 October 2014
I was thinking - wouldn't it be an idea that all tunes were released at the same time... But still using csdb for voting... I mean it seems like tunes released nearer the deadline get higher scores as the number of votes is lower... ???

Submitted by TheRyk on 19 October 2014
either "Disqualified" should be qualified again or Fred must clean up/sort out a bunch of tunes which slightly surpass 0:30 limit

User Comment
Submitted by Stone on 10 October 2014
Looks to me like there's only one rule. Which I broke.

User Comment
Submitted by Jammer on 10 October 2014
Seems like Fredrik's just come up with event and doesn't care too much. Some compo rules would be really nice ;]

User Comment
Submitted by TheRyk on 9 October 2014
So far I really like the outcome. However, for the future rules should be a little clearer and maybe stricter, e.g. from a perspective of a coder it might make sense that not only playing time but also a certain filesize should ot to be exceeded.

BTW: I'd like a mini tune compo next (some time after X party)

Submitted by DRAX on 9 October 2014
Nice compo idea... but when I think about game over I usually think of a short jingle... Is that really what you mean or is it more like a high score tune?

I mean, besides the Rambo example.

User Comment
Submitted by Scarzix on 28 September 2014
Can I get a game example where it plays a game-over jingle? I can only think of a "sound" for dying and then the screen goes onto a highscore screen or title...

Ideas, please?

Just want to ask some general questions related to the competition:

1. Is there a limit to filesize per tune entry
2. How many entries per person
3. How will each entry score, is there going to be a vote sheet or something.
4. Are there any rules, in which the contestant should NOT create i.e. covers, etc.
5. Don't you think 30 seconds is too short? There are Game Over tunes which play for a lot longer than this.

User Comment
Submitted by Jammer on 27 September 2014
How many jingles per contestant? ;)

User Comment

Gameover "jingle" compo!

User Comment

Number 9? Hardly more than a jingle, isn't it?

A great gameovertune is this:
Song 9
Rambo: First Blood Part II
