The name "FUSION" was taken from a newspaper text about some horse-racing, it was the name of a horse that had come last in a race. Man and Machine was Ian and his C64.
The original Fusion Man & Machine was dissolved in 1988.

The Tigers was a fictitious group created by Fusion in order to protect the identities of the original suppliers in Fusion or associated with Fusion. You will occasionally see reference to The Tigers in Fusion scroll texts.

In Roadwars +2 Fusion announced that The Tigers wouldn't supply them any more originals.

Fusion were exclusively modem-trading with Rowdy American Distributors.

From Ian: "There's an interesting story about TRAZ. Ted Carron (now Codemasters) and I developed a set of routines which completely protected tape based games from any of the 'freeze' cartridges and we were meeting with software houses looking to sell it. One of our meetings was with Cascade Software where our plan was to show them the system retrofitted into their game ACE 2.
The boss there wasn't interested, saying that 'none of our games can be cracked as our programmers are the best in the business.' I asked him for the latest tape game from their company. He gave me TRAZ which was about to be released. I used one of their computers and my monitor cartridge to take apart the loader and save the program to disk in less than 5 mins. The programmer was in the room while I did it. He got a bollocking and we got shown the door. Fusion released Trazz first in the UK and Cascade went bust."
