Triumph 2001   (TRI)

AKA:
Triumph

Founded by :
Icon & Jedi in 1988

Dissolved in :
1991

Group Types :
Demo Group, Cracker Group

Base Country :
Sweden

Trivia :
Founded by members leaving Digital Crackers.

According to The Dead Triumph died April 21 1988. The members shattered: Injun, Coq Rouge, Dexter, and Fangoria went to Agile, while Mahoney and Kaktus went to the Amiga. Atom joined Rawhead, and Icon joined Thundercats. However the founder Jedi seems to have rebooted the group in 1990 when Probe joined in, and the group started to release stuff in 1990-1991 again. When they died (again) the remaining members joined Omega.

Our name was NEVER just "Triumph" it was "Triumph 2001" even if some releases may state otherwise...

A quote from the demo Triumph's Death:

"As you might have heard TRIUMPH is dead. After Jedi quite the sceene Anvil and Sampox were kicked out (they did never do anything). TRIUMPH got three new members, Scope, Methabol and White Lion... They released a demo called Mombasa II to show that they've joined Triumph. Pimpernel was trying to join Triad but Jerry said no because he did not like the program Pimpernel used for his board... After a while a group called Omega asked the TRIUMPH members to join. All Triumph-members joined exept Pimpernel. He changed the BBS program and called Jerry and asked him once again and Jerry accepted. In Omega, Probe cracked a game for Omega and he was asked to join Ruthless and he did..."

I totally agree with you, this should probably be two different groups.

Is it really proper to make a single entry for Triumph in this case? In my book, the new Triumph (Methabol, Probe, Scope, etc.) had very little - if anything - to do with the old Triumph (Coq Rouge, Mahoney, Kaktus & Co). Swedish blokes, yes, but still.
