AKA:
Red Sector
Founded by :
Billy Best, Greg & Kangol Kid in 1985
Dissolved in :
31 December 1993
Group Types :
Demo Group, Cracker Group, Fixing Group
Base Country :
Canada
Trivia :
Red Sector was build around 1985 by three Canadians called Billy Best, Greg, and Kangol Kid. Around that time Irata and Mr Zero Page were asked to join RSI. Later on the mainlead was in Iratas hands.
Was a part of The Light Circle.
Red Sector built a co-op with Tristar (Tristar & Red Sector Inc.) around 1990 on the PC and Amiga. At that time RSI was dead on the C64. RSI got rebuilt on the little Commodore on the 25.08.1992 by Irata, Mr. President, Psychobilly, Benson and Termo. They restarted with the release of Scenario +4DFT on that date.
In the year 1993 Red Sector was the best 1st release group on the C64. They ruled that year like noone else.
Probably Bigfoot was a paying member, according to A-Head #3.

He can't rewrite the history here. Good. Does anyone know those 3 guys from Canada so they could ask about him? World is small nowadays, they must be still around somewhere. |

Please excuse - didn't mean to drama. My question is answered now and it helps me understanding. Thanks! |

here is a good summary of the whole affair |

Since baudsurfer can provide zero proof that he was involved into RSI back in the days, and no production lists him as a member either, i see very little reason for listing him as a member. keep the drama on pouet where it belongs. |

If RSI was founded in 1985, that would kind of rule out Amiga, at least. I have no idea. I just assumed that even as a sysop one would be considered a scener related to platform-specific software. I was just wondering. |

Was Baudsurfer a c64 scener? |
User Comment Submitted by Wertstahl on 3 September 2016
Since i recently learned that there is currently quite some stir about the facts surrounding the founding of this group, i'd like to politely ask why baudsurfer is not listed as a member here? |

tyree, if you'd had looked just a little closer then you might have noticed that those releases are actually old unreleased stuff from the 80s, which was released by actual former RSI members. |

8 years later, the scene already died for years, some guys hide under a big name by trying to get a little fame. Totally failed! |
