yeah, I can agree with that - I use it to count notes so i don't have to guess the arpeggios
but's it's already done in my head, so it's just a time saver
had to get a new one, since i was dumb enough to give away my casio VL tone, with a calculator
might as well use a guitar though. and scream the lead while shredding the chords. :) | User Comment Submitted by Dane on 1 December 2012
This is funny, I bought a keyboard a few months ago and really agree with the sentiment that it's easier to get harmonies right when playing the piano. Even though I can't play it well at all. | User Comment Submitted by Stone on 1 December 2012
@Ole: That's because you're the Mozart of SID. It's all in your head. | User Comment Submitted by Kristian on 1 December 2012
I agree with Stein. I can't play either, but it is good for chord changes etc. :) | User Comment Submitted by OMP on 1 December 2012
I can't play the piano to save my life either, but strangely enough, I don't feel like it's easier to experiment with chord-changes and melodies on it.

Thanks guys :D This inspires me to work with the piano more. Even though I can't play to save my life, it's a lot easier to experiment with chord changes AND melody simultaneously on the piano than on the guitar. | User Comment Submitted by Kristian on 29 November 2012
R. Kelly or not, the first part of the tune is amazing, probably the best that has come out of this compo. The second part not so much (the lead is still great in this part but I think the backing becomes too dominant). In total I think this is my favourite tune. | User Comment Submitted by Soren on 28 November 2012
I really like this one Stein! :-) | User Comment Submitted by DRAX on 27 November 2012
Now this is my favorite... I love it... I like those turns ... Nice melody!!! I like the beginning the most! | User Comment Submitted by OMP on 26 November 2012
Næ! That does sound like R Kelly.
But I think that Mr Kelly (or perhaps his producers
) might have ripped that off too. I think it's a movie theme from somewhere - an old one - and it's also very disney-like.
I like this tune a lot!
I don't like R kelly though, or his music. Or the horse he rode in on. | User Comment Submitted by Stainless Steel on 25 November 2012
The galway esque arpeggio stabs and the filtered playful lead are part of the prosonix style for me. | User Comment Submitted by Stone on 25 November 2012
Oh, man. Bjørn told me the tune sounded like "I believe I can fly", but I just ignored him. I'm glad I did, because now I had to listen to it and the intro melody is so similar it's spooky... I probably wouldn't have finished it. Actually I had to restrain myself from drifting too much into Alan Menken territory (I was inadvertently moving into the chorus of "Colors of the Wind") and I think the R. Kelly song also has some very 'Disneyesque' qualities. It's the first tune I've composed entirely on the piano and I think it affects what kind of chords I use. It was a very cool experience. Finally, it's interesting that people say there's a "Prosonix style". :) How would you define that? I couldn't myself. Thanks for all your comments, btw! :) | User Comment Submitted by la_mettrie on 25 November 2012
The mood in the very beginning truly fits for the moment when hi-score list appears | User Comment Submitted by Zyron on 25 November 2012 User Comment Submitted by Dane on 25 November 2012
Oh, the second half is just breathtaking. Very Prosonix. | User Comment Submitted by Joe on 25 November 2012 User Comment Submitted by psych on 25 November 2012
Indeed, kind of R.Kelly at the beginning, but later on it's becoming very interesting. I like it, even thought it is very short. | User Comment Submitted by Yogibear on 25 November 2012
Sounds a bit like R. Kelly - I believe I can fly. Anyway sounds good! | User Comment Submitted by Stone on 24 November 2012
Yeah, I ran out of time, sorry about that. If I find the motivation I'll make a longer version. | User Comment Submitted by CreaMD on 24 November 2012
Oh yeah!
p.s.too short, but cool anyway. | User Comment Submitted by spider-j on 24 November 2012 User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 24 November 2012
1st part is nice, 2nd part ends too soon, just when it was becoming interesting. |
