| @iAN: Times change. In old days the cracks were not instantly available to everyone. It took some time to spread them by modem (300-2400 baud, yeah!), snailmail or hand-to-hand. We usually just simulate this delay. ;) |

While it's true that today nobody makes C64 games for the money, it still is a motivation boost if you have a couple more sales on a game you've worked on for years. I was also hoping that we had reached to some kind of unspoken agreement that it's fair play to crack the game a couple months after the release but not earlier. If for nothing else than to show some respect.

I personally do not think making an enriched collection of old stuff available as "crack" today will cut the sales. People who really purchase this kind of stuff want to own it as original in a nice package to put it on a shelf and show it. The package is not included in a download. Making the game available for preview may even encourage them to buy it.
I generally think nowadays only a few enthusiasts spend money on C64 games and they will buy the jewel package regardless if the plain game is available as free download or not. Noone sane really develops a game for C64 today to get rich. The few bucks you can earn with it cannot be the main reason. It's a small additional goody at best but no real impulsion. |

| This game has been available to buy for what, a few weeks, and is already here as a downloadable crack? Come on Laxity, show a bit of support to the developers making these games and keep the download link off the site until they are available for free. |

Yes, the "Remix" is the same version Triad and Onslaught released in 2004 as Preview v2.
The "classic" version is a modification of the game currently present on Gamebase64. |
