When I set C64 Model in to Old Pal the problem occurs. Man, what a noob I am. Still I don't understand what goes wrong with MC.

Groepaz, are you sure?

The checkerboard is in multicolor and I use bitpairs 01 and 10. So the colors are determined by $d022 and $d023. Those are set in the IRQ routines in every frame. The screenshot posted by dano shows a hires checkerboard. This I don't understand because MC is set in the lower border in every frame (and turned off again right below the checkerboard).

There was a similar issue with my Ghosts'n Goblins demo where the colors of the sprites looked wrong in some version of GTK Vice and that can't have anything to do with the kernal routine, can't it?

The problem is that you are clearing the screen unsing kernal, but you dont set $0286 first. so it uses whatever the color was before starting (AR->$01). Next time just dont use the kernal routine :)

If you’re going to use my BBS name, at least you could have included the telnet address & port. 馃槝

hedning, with AR6/RetroReplay is there a problem with using ram from $8000?

This should have been a BBS intro, btw.

Looks fine without fastloader. With AR6/RetroReplay I also got wrong colours.

dano, I believe there are some issues with some of the GTK3 Vice versions. The demo looks fine on all emulators I tried it on.
