still hell funny after all these years :D | User Comment Submitted by anonym on 5 January 2020
Cute. Like the Furby equalizer of sorts and the effect on the scroller. I was almost expecting something to come out and hit the furbys to make the sound ;-) The orbiting dot is a nice little detail. | User Comment Submitted by goerp on 5 January 2020
Thanks for all the comments!
I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. For me this was the rare instance where capabilities and ambition aligned.
@Flotsam: I did try some stuff with pulse tables, wave tables, filters but to me it didn't sound better (perhaps maybe the lower notes). I also dabbled with sound in the first part (yawns and stuff), but that also didn't improve things.
But then again: I worked on the music so much, in the end I could not listen to it with any kind of objectivity. | User Comment Submitted by Jammer on 5 January 2020
Fantastic! <3 I disagree with Flotsam here - sound fits fantastic and I love organ vibes. | User Comment Submitted by Flotsam on 4 January 2020
I like it a lot as it is, but would love it if the generic instruments were replaced with something more exotic, something that sounds like a furbee. | User Comment Submitted by DKT on 2 January 2020
Cool idea, and those vibratos :D | User Comment Submitted by MCM on 2 January 2020
Furbies 4EVER!! Cool intro, Sync a sid to gfx or effects is always amazing. | User Comment Submitted by Yogibear on 2 January 2020 User Comment Submitted by Scan on 1 January 2020
I really like the attention given to the details, like the mouths moving when there is a vibrato in the voice. Very well done! | User Comment Submitted by goerp on 1 January 2020
@Compyx: 4 octaves actually. I can only get max 8 rows of Furbies because of the character overlay.
An earlier version of this had 64 Furbies, but in the end I went for the keyboard layout. And this made it possible to have an orbiting planet.
@iAN CooG: I thought I'd make a sid myself, because I have the source, so easy peasy, right? But the result sounded quite different from the intro and I don't understand why (different timings changing ADSR results?). I still have lots to learn about the SID. | User Comment Submitted by Compyx on 1 January 2020
Oh wow, the furbies are basically 5 octaves. And if you keep a close eye at 'em, you can follow the music.
Very cool. | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 31 December 2019
Funny =) Took me a good hour to rip, rebuild the init (didn't restart) and compact the tune to a 6kb file, damn spaghetti code!11 | User Comment Submitted by Shine on 31 December 2019
I never said it does say ony "GOEP"...
:PPP
You have no proof! :} | User Comment Submitted by Raistlin on 31 December 2019
Great work! You can never have enough Furbees :-)
And Shine, the logo -does- say Goerp :-p | User Comment Submitted by Shine on 31 December 2019
I like it aswell! :)
BUT why the logo says _only_ "GOEP" and not "GOERP"? :] | User Comment Submitted by hedning on 31 December 2019
I love this, Goerp! Happy new year, dude! |
