Awesome! So soothing both in visual and audio. You should listen to some of ZZAP69's tunes and perhaps make a shared soundtrack for the full-price game :)

I will let this one run on forever until it crashes and let you know at the Boar's Head how long it'll last just like with Shapedust.

Great stuff! It's usually a good sign when you don't know what category that fits. :)

Shit, almost missed this. Now I know who you are... you are a re-incarnation of Jeff Minter! Awesome trippy weirdness, love the music, love everything. Want more.

i decided Goat and TheWarCriminal were right that this fits under the "demo" category, so have changed it to that instead of "game preview". (it will still be a game eventually)

cheers :) two player mode - hmm, i hadn't considered that.. probably not, but we'll see. i think i'll be lucky if i can optimise it enough to put in all the game logic and not have to cut other stuff to keep it running fast.

it's going to be a fairly simple shooty game, heavily based on the arcade classic Centipede (the worms in this DEMO are the main enemy. player will be moving around shooting them.).. i find Centipede entrancing to watch, but always kind of fiddly and unsatisfying to play. and the C64 version was pretty lacklustre. been wanting to make a similar-but-better game for years.

It could be a game preview; Now finish the game, and this will by definition be the game preview. ;) If it stops now I would say it's a demo.

eh? it says it's a tech demo in the prg, and on this very page.. does it matter, should i change its category to "demo" then? i thought "game preview" was the most apt, since, that's exactly what it is.

wouldn't normally release a game demo before it's playable but i'd started making it specifically for the csdb fun compo, and that ends tomorrow so wanted to upload what i have..

someone trying to pass off a demo as a game. Crap like this would get you banned from scene boards almost instantly Worldwide. Back then scene had rules; guess now there aren't.

This is not playable, so it's not a game... just a tech DEMO.

Amazing non-c64 feeling to it with psychedelic accents. Yummy!
