Conrad: I just could find this one that were from the originals from the past on youtube but the original were created the year earlier I think and tis one I post here to be a render in 1983 is just amazing for beeing at that time, today I could render all those frames in 3 minutes but at that time it took over one week to see it for the first time how it became, with the most expensive and most advanced hardware and software in the world, that anyone could hire at that time, the peak of the worlds most modern processing plant in a way: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R86_TLuI51w&feature=related
I also have the fondest memory for this from the ian and mic production, this might be because I never saw the one that chanel4 had in those early days and only remember the c64 version... |

PAL: in my opinion, the channel 4 ident shown here in ian & mic's demo was the best version ever made... it was colourfull, and original! Once they put the "4" into a small, boring white square around the late 90's, the magic was gone for me... tastes differ I guess.
The same happend with BBC 2 idents... some of the ones from the early 90's were amazing! |

| I remember when visiting londons hottest tv indent and comercial agency lambie and nearn in 1993 and I saw what they had done in the past and up, there were this chanel 4 indent that were their most famous one besides all the bbc stuff and charlton london they did... and I thought of the remake that ian and mic had done on the c64, it were a very cool feeling... |

1) ian+mic say its by MON
2) player is 99% same as CD's crap.sid
3) marcel donne dont have the details/ears to make this
4) JB has refused it
5) its not JT style in any way (but i have asked him today anyway)
6) CD has told me that he does actually not remember anything anymore (too much work)
By elimination of possibilities, we are left with what the demo says: MON
and unless JT reply back he done it, it must be CD. |

| Quite a daft guess, but what about Link/Vibrants? I know he wasn't a MoN member, but he made quite a few tunes using this player and also a couple members (DRAX for instance) was a member of both groups. Ian & Mic may of muddled up which group release this tune, as both group made the same kind and quality of music if you get my drift. |

Hein: Check out Domino_Dancing.sid in JB's folder. It uses CGKOTY-tuning too.
BTW, it could be made by Marcel Donné too... |

The music is placed under JB because of an educated guess? There are still a couple of reasons not to place it there:
- Ian & Mic write its by some Gnarles Deneen
- The routine is almost 100% the same as crap.sid by Deneen (give or take a few zeropages and opcodes).
- It's using a different tuning than Bjerregaards sids.
I demand a further house search in Deneen's villa! |

| Charles Deenen is 100% sure that it's not his. However recently Reyn Ouwehand has pointed out that according to his educated opinion the tune's by Bjerregaard. Kinda like a 95% certain "guess". ;-) |

It seems to be Mission Impossible to find the composer for this awesome tune. JT, RO, CD all said they didn't do it. I recently asked Anthony Lees about it, but he's a dead end, too (said he *wished* he did it, but he didn't...). Ben Daglish also said no. I think we must have asked five dozen other suspects, but nobody so far has claimed that fantastic piece of sid to be his.
(Edit: Of course, I also asked Mic of Ian&Mic. Who said that a certain Charles Deenham of MoN has done it. ;)) |

Yeah. This demo really kicked ass, with respect to the British television channel. They still use the same "4" today on TV :) although presented in a different style of course... I still prefer this style to be honest, it's more colourful.
I still don't know who composed that brilliant music! Anyone knows? |

| One of my favorite demos as a kid. (In a sense it still is, if I would write some history over the C64-scene this would of course be included). I remember wondering how the hell those rotating blocks of the channel 4 logo was made... I have still not peaked the code yet to find the answer... Respect. |
