Is this the only Ptoing picture I never commented on? Well: it's cool! :D | User Comment Submitted by Ed on 14 August 2007
Nice use of characters.
What I like about it is that you have been able to fill the screen, leaving little "gaps". Tricky solution with the background color! | User Comment Submitted by Sander on 21 May 2007
I don't really understand the referring to the other petscii graphics, those try to look like multicolor graphics.
Ptoing does it with style instead.. Like i dig the BFP/LCP promotion stuff. Done with style aswell :) | User Comment Submitted by chatGPZ on 21 May 2007 User Comment Submitted by DeeKay on 17 May 2007
I may be the only one, but i liked the 3 friends better! ;-) Their shape was really nice!
Using something else than black as $d021 unfortunately makes it unusable for BBSes.. If it was for me I'd go for it any day, because i fucking hate black as $d021 in *any* mode (it's basically useless, just like white!), but black unfortunately became the standard..
I did quite some CCGMS-BoardGFX back in the day, so if there's any sort of gallery or sth I'd also want to know!
Also, Bitbreaker/VOZ has done some nice PETSCII pr0n! | User Comment Submitted by Jak T Rip on 14 May 2007
Oh wow, this one is really cool. But don't you forget the good old koala and hires, won't you? :) | User Comment Submitted by Burglar on 14 May 2007
good second try, indeed a *lot* better than the other one, cause that one sucked ;)
I wonder if you've seen any of the petscii bulletin board gfx yet (anyone know if there's a site with screenshots of those?) | User Comment Submitted by Frantic on 13 May 2007
Nice move with using cyan as background, even though visually black looks like "background". Not that this in itself is very advanced or completely innovative or so, but I just meant that it was made use of in a good way in this specific picture. Many details look smooth 'n nice because of this. | User Comment Submitted by Stinky on 13 May 2007
Great, more! I love PETSCII graphics and interfaces, minimalism is king. | User Comment Submitted by Skate on 13 May 2007
a great colorful ASCII picture from Ptoing. congratulations dude. | User Comment Submitted by Jucke on 12 May 2007
Really impressive. Ptoing you got the petscii touch. Please continue developing within this wonderful gfx mode! | User Comment Submitted by Tao on 12 May 2007 User Comment Submitted by ptoing on 12 May 2007
Ta for the comments.
@Deev: Not really practise, more like different approach. Whenever I work in a new mode I think what one can do in it. In PETSCII you can either just ignore the characters and work only with inverted space. Just 40x25 chunky pixels so to say. Or you can use chunky pixels with chars as lines on them as I did in "Three Friends". Or then again what I did here, using chunky pixels as foundation and then picking a good bgcolour and using that to detail, in this case cyan. This approach I enjoy most I find. | User Comment Submitted by Deev on 12 May 2007
Much nicer than yesterday's pic IMO. When I looked at Three Friends, I spotted the petscii characters before I saw the image. Use of the lines curves etc just seemed a little too obvious. This time around, I see a nicely styled image of a knight with good use of colour and it's only on closer inspection that the characterset starts to jump out. The mode seems much more cleverly used to create a nicer image, I guess that comes with practice! | User Comment Submitted by Raf on 12 May 2007
