gpz just pointed out the hands are rather crude in comparison, and he's right! Her left hand is okayish, but her right is quite a pixelmess, especially by Archmage's standards! <:-) I totally didn't notice, been way too focused on the beautiful face and background! ;-)

Grattis Archmage. Veldig bra... Moro å se progresjonen i C64 scenen.

Composition wise it doesn't bring much, subject wise it's the best choice for a winning scene picture (girl caressing cube), technically totally über (who needs XMUFLI?), to me a deserved winner.

Mirage and Archmage, taking the pixelcraft to a science! Wonderful pixels, the longer i watch, the more i learn.

Archmage seems to have access to a different palette than other artists... it all just looks so damn good.

I'm just glad you decided to join our little c64 scene :) It could use a bit of beautiful fresh air now and then

So nicely pixeled, so good colors, oldschool as I like it.

There can be no doubt whether there was tracing or wiring involved: true pixel art!

pineapple chunk or a steaming marshmallow

My guess is that it's smelly French cheese.

being a fuckin' supporter of photorealism and advertisement like design, this one impresses me not as much as the deev's one for example. a little overhyped imho ;)

Thanks for the nice words, guys. Much appreciated.

Deekay: eh... nope. I haven't played Portal. Perhaps I should. I refer you to the production notes I am about to write.

I had a hard time deciding between this pic and Duce's as the best in the compo!... Fucking brilliant flawless pixelstyle and great composition from Archmage, as always! I totally forgot to ask you on X, Håkon: Is this actually a rendition of GlaDOS of Portal, holding the much beloved Weighted Companion Cube?

P.S: I had not only one but *two* archmages in my Bard's Tale party back then! ;-) And they were so good that one of them singlehandedly took out the 400 Orcs behind that door in the final dungeon that was supposed to be the ultimate game over if you opened it! ;-D

The best entry won! Archmage is the pixel star of this party, for this and also his work in the Instinct+Horizon demo.

Very nice pic, one of the pieces which really saved the X2008 graphicscompo. Clear, nice contrast, good choice of color and a great composition which reminds me of Mirage's later works.

If I count it correctly, this is the third graphics compo Archmage has entered since his C64-career began, and also the third first place. That is one impressive streak! :)

-edit- Doh! Forgot to comment the picture itself, but I guess everyone can see that it is brilliant, so no need to really ;)

Great pic. Bright colours, clearly structured elements, outlines suit perfectly. Love it.
