Quoting iAN CooGAnd I'm for including also those covered sids, if no one objects, since they are covers and not by the original author.
I don't quite get it how the discussion evolved into a flame fest. Looking at the quote above it would've been enough if you just said NO, Geir, and the case would've been closed then. You made your point though and we won't add these tunes. Peace. | User Comment Submitted by PAL on 27 September 2009
No I could not do that, you know this too, because as I said the scene holds an important archive for me as a c64 enthusiast and lover and just an nostralgic fool...
I am not a fighter, I am a lover, he he... I do love the history and all the magic moments that the c64 as a platform has given me and still does with all its members that were and are or have been and are still not there. Something magic in history in my mind.
It would have done for a fun image still...

That should be a koala image I could do... a sid chip up the ass... ha ha... ;-) | User Comment Submitted by PAL on 27 September 2009
HVSC is a very cool collection, for me it really holds alot of the c64 sound history, and it holds the truth... I can understand that it is an issue to include these tunes for you Geir personally, but really isnt that a matter of despute between you and GRG?
I think these are out there on a "official" release for alot of years, even if he stole the code or tunes and so on. It is between you and him that.
For what it is worth, I like the tunes really good and to me they have a place in the history of sid tunes and the release in the history of sid tools... that is just me.
Consentrate the energy on creating new stuff and leave the past behind. You are so incredible talented and should create more music and compositions for the world to enjoy! You are one of the finest music artists in the history of the c64, you know this too I hope, for me you are special, let the past just fade and consentrate on your new stuff.

I would use the plain and simple rule: If it's out there, include it. It wasn't stolen off some private disk, right? ;) | User Comment Submitted by Mace on 27 September 2009
Geir, you control freak! ;-) | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 27 September 2009
Geir&GRG: I respect your decision not to put the missing songs in HVSC - even if some on this disk and other SDI disks available are ALREADY in HVSC by some years - but let me remind you that HVSC main task is to collect *every possible* sid music, even if they weren't never compiled, but spread.
You can't deny that these songs do exist and they are spread, even if they are only tests, like you say.
It's not a strange thing for us to build sids from music sources, sometimes even ripping them from the editor memory because after packing wouldn't sound like it was intended. | User Comment Submitted by 6R6 on 27 September 2009
@robozz: thats right. 1.8 used ntsc freq register.
I'm not sure about adding these example songs. They dont come with a player attached. | User Comment Submitted by Stainless Steel on 22 June 2009
I'd vote for their inclusion into HVSC. Even if it's just for the purpose of formalities. | User Comment Submitted by GT on 22 June 2009
@Ian I don't see the point in adding these tunes to HVSC. Why not ask me directly instead of discussing it here? | User Comment Submitted by robozz on 21 June 2009
Please be aware that the "SDI 1.8 tunes converted to 2.0" in here will be tuned wrong if you use PAL freq tables in sdi 2. (1.8 uses NTSC freq?)
Also, the converter failed on Super Monaco G.P it has bugs in sequence #11 | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 21 June 2009
yes, it's different, that's why we're adding it =)
And I'm for including also those covered sids, if no one objects, since they are covers and not by the original author. | User Comment Submitted by Stainless Steel on 21 June 2009
It's a bit different though. | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 21 June 2009
Wasn't yet, will be, Jan converted it right now.
Anyway you can hear the same melody in

I was wondering, are the demotunes here in HVSC ?
Especially Geir's awesome rendition of "Bahia Funk". So damn awesome.
