Yes, a collection of DATA-LAND would be nicer, but according to the rules he's not doing anything wrong.
And since the graphic restrictions of the C64 are different from the computers the original graphics came from, I'd say he's even doing a nice job converting those pictures.
One could say it's equally annoying to make fake releases to state your point, instead of discussing about it on the forum.
BTW, I uploaded the actual screenshot. | User Comment Submitted by Akira on 12 April 2009
I'm fed up of the data-land thingies because they fill up the RSS feed and cover actually interesting or original works that I am interested in more than that.
Make a collection of them, zip them up and post that. Do not post individual entries, it's annoying.

Hmm, I failed to see the sarcasm, since I worked my way through the releases from newest to older...
Mkay... still the screenshot doesn't resemble the real release, unlike DATA-LAND's stuff ;-)

Yes, it's a sarcastic release. I simply find it stupid to release a game image without a game. Most of the crap released by 'data-land' is already here!
I can see someone releasing artwork they created, I can even see myself downloading that, what I can't see is why anybody would bother releasing images that nobody really cares for. They are NICE conversions, without a doubt. I'm not attacking Data-Land at all, I just feel he's wasting space and time.
I supplied the cartridge. I said it was a CRT image when in fact it isn't. It's as real as my snapshot 5 cart. What make this original? Nobody has a picture of what my cart looks like when it boots... get the point? | User Comment Submitted by plagueis on 12 April 2009
I remember buying that Cartridge when it first came out on the Atari 5200. | User Comment Submitted by LOGAN on 12 April 2009
This looks like not even an image but more like a title screen :/ | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 12 April 2009
It's a sarcastic release against data-land "converted" pix from sprectum, was so hard to understand? =) | User Comment Submitted by Mace on 12 April 2009
1) The screenshot doesn't look like the release, therefor I say it's a bad ripp. It's a bad screenshot too, as I see scaling.
2) This is not a picture, this is a title screen (hardly any graphic skills are involved).
3) Why? | User Comment Submitted by Exploding First on 12 April 2009
Sorry, but the crt image of this game isn't a new release. This image was available before. | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 12 April 2009
Interested? Wrong assumption. I for first download everything newly uploaded THEN decide what to keep and sort in groups directories. | User Comment Submitted by Exploding First on 12 April 2009
Nevertheless, 6 downloads. Someone is interested in. | User Comment Submitted by tlr on 12 April 2009
The screen shot doesn't look like the release.
| User Comment Submitted by The Phantom on 12 April 2009
This is a 5 minute conversion from the ORIGINAL CRT IMAGE!!!!
If someone else can release images from games without the actual game, why shouldn't everyone?! Come on people, start taking snapshot pictures of whatever you do on c64 and upload it!!
Incredible. |
