I really like the instruments and the harmonies, but I think the tune is a bit too repetitive rhythmically, and it doesn't develop much once it gets going. Nice one, still. | User Comment Submitted by Mr. Mouse on 19 April 2010
This could be called old skool these days. Say, 1990-1994. | User Comment Submitted by Hermit on 19 April 2010
Yeah, I realized the similarity :) When I gave the title 1-2 months ago, I didn't know about your tune. I hope it doesn't cause any confusion...
BTW, I like 'your version', short really, but the melody is really touching, and I think you have better selection for arps as triangle waveform.....
About chords: I came back where I started composing years ago. I try to avoid knowing which chords I'm using, just listening to my ears. I hear the minor/major/major7 sounding of the cords, but I never want to know more, when I'm writing the melody/chord progression. As I eliminate the musical knowledge, and emphasize what I feel, some really experimental things can happen compared to my 'technical'/'scientifical' composing.
Sometimes I wish if I've never learned the chords...on the other hand, when playing live, they're useful - but IMO too much knowledge stands in the way of emotional composing.. - Some may agree, some not, but nowadays I feel better composing free...

Somehow the title reminds me of Deep Thoughts ;)
This is a LOT better though! I like it. :) | User Comment Submitted by endo on 19 April 2010
very nice, I like the bass & drums. | User Comment Submitted by Flex on 19 April 2010
Now that I've listened this some 5 times through... Still the drumbeat and the bass(line) makes a huge effect on me, especially when it begins. Nice harmonies here and there but still I miss "the perfect lead melody" for this tune as everything else is almost perfect. | User Comment Submitted by chatGPZ on 18 April 2010
yeah interesting harmonies and "improvisation" lead .... and infact i think it sounds better on 6581 =) | User Comment Submitted by NecroPolo on 18 April 2010
Pretty fine music. Sounds like an acid jazz base theme and a song-length impromptu solo played with skilled ears and hands for jazz. | User Comment Submitted by DRAX on 18 April 2010
Interesting harmonies and lead!!! Nice to hear some experimenting harmony wise!! | User Comment Submitted by Fredrik on 18 April 2010 User Comment Submitted by Hermit on 17 April 2010
I'd be happy if I could compose nearly as great melodies as Drax, but maybe in my next life...:)
Did you listen the music thoroughly? After the first verse the melodies become less dissonant..maybe the beginning is less cheesy, but this is somehow going deeper in mood a bit....

Love the bass and the drums. The start of the tune is awesome but I think if Drax made the melody it could be 10/10.. :-) | User Comment Submitted by Hermit on 17 April 2010
I've composed this zak a while ago, it was intended to be a demo endsequence music but then it wasn't needed...
I hope you find your interest in it... |
