It's a rather fancy composition both technically and aesthetically, making a sheltered space between the wings of the head. The transitions of colors are cleverly resolved with the edges and dithering of the contours and fields. Oh, and I agree with Lemming: Finland is strong still and demands some attention in the public votes.

Blimey! I didn't expect this kind of Spanish Inquisition! ... err .. I didn't expect this kind of attention with this picture! Thanx to all of you for all the kind word etc..! But hey, seriously. It's not that good, no way! In some point I got really tired of pixelling, especially with the wings. As you can see the wings sucks big time... And DeeKay is quite right with the black dithering bleeds, but I also agree with Veto about this matter. And when this was screened at the dataparty, the bleeds actually made it look better than it is :) . But anyhow, thanx for all the support, I might do another hiRes pic someday :)

deekay: the blue/black dithering looks pretty nice on my 1084s. guess it is because it is very clean shaped. there are a few areas black bleed seem to eat detail but there are rare and imo none important here.

No "professional artist" bullshit, no 'look at me I'm so original', just a "nice" humble reminder of where the best gfx come from ;-) time to see Extend fellas back on the diskmag graphician charts, I say.

My first instinct was to go through most other releases I've voted 10 for and lower them to 9. Because this image is truly on a level on its own.

This blows my mind.

Awesome, as usual!

Though it will lose some appeal on real HW thanks to dithering with black! ;-) Black kills when dithered, especially in Hires!...
