Coming back to this one over and over. Such an amazing petscii piece. Top of the top. | User Comment Submitted by Scrap on 4 June 2021 User Comment Submitted by Stinsen on 27 February 2015
Wow, I totally forgot about the insane level of this compo and this is was no exception for sure. Very clean (as mentioned before) and really loving those colors. :D | User Comment Submitted by PAL on 27 February 2015 User Comment Submitted by Zierliches Püppchen on 7 February 2015 User Comment Submitted by grasstust on 16 October 2013
Fantastic! I love that it feels very clean for a Petscii, and still has the Petscii charm. What kills my enthusiasm for Petscii is when a pictures includes too many random characters. This picture has a clear set of petscii characters and uses them well. I'm also fascinated by how the guy's eye is drawn, I think it's strange that it works so well, and you really get the guy's attitude. Colours and style is also A+. This might be my favourite Archmage piece of graphics since his Andromeda logo. Thumbs up! | User Comment Submitted by Jak T Rip on 15 October 2013
HOWLY COW!!! I really am unhappy that I can't vote higher than 10 now. Blows my printer. | User Comment Submitted by Archmage on 15 October 2013
Thanks for the nice comments, guys. There is a heart in there for all of you! :) | User Comment Submitted by Stone on 13 October 2013
As with Vanja's entry, I find it amazing that even in a petscii picture, the creator's own style shines through so brilliantly. F''kin' A, Håkon! | User Comment Submitted by Motion on 13 October 2013
This is mind blowing - this really is moment of wonderment, in the capable hands of Archmage! | User Comment Submitted by Burglar on 12 October 2013
I thought I knew which pic I would rate #1, then this got released...
really awesome, and best usage of non-black bg too | User Comment Submitted by hedning on 11 October 2013
Dipswitch: PC Ansi? This compo shows that the C64 kicks Amiga and PC butt over and over again. C64 once started the scene, and is saving the scene. ;) | User Comment Submitted by Biz Kid on 11 October 2013 User Comment Submitted by Dipswitch on 11 October 2013
this is SO good! archmage, you should also try PC ansi, now that you got into textmode artforms. ;) | User Comment Submitted by Dr.j on 11 October 2013

I just said out loud in work "fuck me". | User Comment Submitted by MisterMSK on 11 October 2013
You really went out of the box. Usually, I seen black backgrounds. But by making the background gray, you had the chance to use black as a color in the face as shadows. Nicely done. | User Comment Submitted by Shine on 11 October 2013
Awesome technique!!! Looks GREAT! 10/10 :) | User Comment Submitted by X-jammer on 11 October 2013

Great picture Archmage! Awesome technique :-) | User Comment Submitted by DeeKay on 11 October 2013
Wow!... Absolutely stunning! I love these fresh new styles and ideas that are showing up now that people that normally don't do PETSCII are trying it! ;-) It was the reason I got into PETSCII in the first place back in '92, it simply annoyed me that in all those BBS-gfx pretty much EVERYONE was using the same 12 4x4/Zoom4 characters *only*, and totally ignored the rest of the charset!... | User Comment Submitted by bepp on 11 October 2013
I think we're right now witnessing something major in the C64 history. 2013 was the year when contemporary graphicians embraced PETSCII - and it was acknowledged by a wider audience. A craft that was previously only carried out by a few BBS- and text nerds ;-) Wonder what impact this might have on demos to come... Wow. I am full of reverence having experienced this! <3 | User Comment Submitted by bepp on 11 October 2013
Whoa!!!! Kung Håkon!!!!!!!!! Insane... | User Comment Submitted by Oswald on 11 October 2013
a little joeish feeling from all the diagonals, but the figure & color usage screams archmage :) interesting to notice the trickish background color. love it. | User Comment Submitted by X-Raffi on 11 October 2013
Hell, this is getting better every Day, Respect !!! | User Comment Submitted by groms on 11 October 2013 User Comment Submitted by TheRyk on 10 October 2013
@charsets: I hope they used roughly the same charset/s ;) | User Comment Submitted by wysiwtf on 10 October 2013
mermaids charsets are probably better but this has so much style and the colors... | User Comment Submitted by Deev on 10 October 2013 User Comment Submitted by redcrab on 10 October 2013

Greato! Modern CGI could use a PETSCII shader to improve aesthetics. ;] | User Comment Submitted by Marq on 10 October 2013
