Obviously, Owls love you back! | User Comment Submitted by CreaMD on 1 February 2014
But you wrote it in such an accusatory manner, like if it was his fault ;-) | User Comment Submitted by jailbird on 31 January 2014
Quoting CreaMDI was just sugesting that you should learn to live with it and accept the fact that some people just can't be changed.
"I'm done talking to him" wasn't consenting enough for you? :) I have already acknowledged my failure as a prodigal educator of oblivious singletons, you don't have to rub my nose in it :) | User Comment Submitted by CreaMD on 31 January 2014
Jailbird. You didn't get what I wanted to say. I was just sugesting that you should learn to live with it and accept the fact that some people just can't be changed. You are free to despise them for that. | User Comment Submitted by spider-j on 31 January 2014 User Comment Submitted by Hammerfist on 30 January 2014
Is there any particular reason why so many here are getting bent out of shape because JSL doesn't want to, or know how to, accept our friendly advice? He isn't obligated, is he? So we don't like his graphics because he won't do them like we all think is best. Fine, we tried, time to move on. Let him do it his way and be happy instead of forcing him to do it our way and maybe forcing him out of the scene in the process. Life is just too short, X is already in October! | User Comment Submitted by leonofsgr on 29 January 2014

It's OK JSL but you must try to improve. I know it's difficult I have that with my music but you must try. :) | User Comment Submitted by Cresh on 29 January 2014
I love owls with tomatoes and garlic. | User Comment Submitted by Mase on 29 January 2014
There are no rules to art JSL, personally I don't care for anti-aliasing. | User Comment Submitted by sextone on 29 January 2014 User Comment Submitted by korshun on 29 January 2014
Technical its OK.. but the picture conveys that awwwwww *__* feeling | User Comment Submitted by JSL on 29 January 2014
Good votes.. Well, not quite sure about that.. I don't want to put more colors in the square, where now Cyan and Yellow is.. The only thing I didn't do, because I hate that work, is the AA on the Flowers.. Bugjam said it too often to me, that most of my pics lacks Anti-Aliasing. Good, it is part of c64 pixeling, but not what I like.. | User Comment Submitted by Danzig on 29 January 2014
THIS picture is a perfect example of what Jailbird was talking about here Booze Design Logo
@JSL: read the tutorial, improvethis picture as suggested and release v2.
That would bring in some g00d v073z :) the bare motive is awesome! | User Comment Submitted by JSL on 29 January 2014
In other words OMFG ? :) Maybe I must cheerup my comments a bit.. :DDD | User Comment Submitted by jailbird on 29 January 2014 User Comment Submitted by JSL on 29 January 2014
Maybe most of my stuff is crap.. I am filling in the answers you guys give, then again maybe I am wrong and you all LOVE the picture.. It is with pictures I did and not much work was involved "I say Crap" then again, with pictures which took me a while to pixel, I say nothing. Then again, even these turn out into crap.. Maybe I must build up my attitude, but when I am going to say THIS IS SOME AMAZING WORK FROM ME. It stays crap.. :)) I know, pixel a graphic and put it away for some time, then pixel again.. And, I pixel a picture, with a check, and if all pixels are right, I make an executable of it, to me final. Then I get the feedback by Email, note it down, and when I have about 5-6 pictures that need the feedback updates, I go change things, and replace files in my maps.. But JSL is not more in the way of, continue pixels, continue again, over a month again, to get it better and better, from my view "good enough".. | User Comment Submitted by jailbird on 29 January 2014
Quoting CreaMDJailbird, learn to respect it. It's not a single separate phenomenon. See for example Richard Bayliss. Ask TMR, if he didn't try. I also tried to teach him to survive the scene.
What's worse, people leaving scene because of not being able to meet our exceptations or those who give a mhm... about them. I don't say I love mediocrity or that we should pat them on the shoulder for everything they produce, but if you can't tune in and communicate with them, don't blame them for being unable to evolve or listen to (what we see as) good advices.
Now, we're slightly mixing up roles here. It's not ours to "tune in" into the mindset of someone who refuses to cope with negative/helfpful commentaries and observations. AFAIK, none of us is a psychoanalyst. If certain people feel like outsiders, and they're constantly "under attack" for some reason, there's probably a reason to it - and if they don't change their behavior, then they're simply lost causes. Imagine you're very good at building houses and you see someone constructing them while disregarding common sense even after the 56th of their house doesn't have windows, electricity or plumbing and the only entrance is on the roof, whilst you keep telling them they're doing it wrong (...and their answer is: hey dude, let me be, this is my style), well, you eventually stop with caring. And you especially stop with any kind of respect for the person.
Quoting Oswaldnot everyone can be a Mirage :) I think guys lik JSL make the scene a more colorful place, I'm happy he's enjoying himself, and see the constant flow of pixels, in all their JSL glory. Sharing virtually our love to this machine, blah blah, you get the point :)
Right, that's fine, love of C64 and everything. But then again, he's constantly defending himself and his works, comparing himself to other graphicians and his releases to other graphics (just look at his comment below).
Maybe the process of pixelling is indeed joyous for him, but putting himself willingly into the moshpit of hurtful comments and malicious remarks doesn't seem too constructive to me.
But yeah, maybe that's what floats his boat. | User Comment Submitted by Oswald on 29 January 2014

I'm done talking to him. Even a brick wall would grasp more from my words than JSL does. | User Comment Submitted by hedning on 29 January 2014
Listen to Jailbird. He's a good teacher. | User Comment Submitted by St0rmfr0nt on 29 January 2014
Really one of my favourite from you Johan. Great Stuff. Thumbs up! | User Comment Submitted by Sounx on 29 January 2014
Hello JSL, well actually I like this pic a lot. The coloring is spot on and though I'm missing anti-aliasing, msotly on the eyebrows and wings of the owl, I think this is a great pic.
I personally enjoy this one more than the raw B&W pictures from PBY, but at the same time I like the creativity in combination with the mood of his work. | User Comment Submitted by pby on 29 January 2014
...the stuff of that "Acrise dude" is black and white because he just sucks at coloring his pictures :)... I like your owl! And I wish I could handle colors just like that... | User Comment Submitted by JSL on 29 January 2014
Currently you all like the black/white stuff this Acrise dude is doing, so this Simple color picture is crap.. D64 has workstages.. Oh, and I found the lost pixel too but that comes from mirrorring the flowers/gave clash errors.. Enjoy, or not.. |
