| Yeah, well, at least you understand my intent :) I must admit the SID is still kind of a mystery to me (especially hearing the HardSID recordings, that are really messed up ...) -- but I like composing very much! Either I continue doing "weird stuff" or I'll stop. I hope for the first, getting (technically) better with the SID ;) |

| This inspired me a lot! I've just learned to step away from 4/4 and learn how to play 3/4 and 6/4 on the piano. :) Now I just must learn to get a hang of 5/4 as well. :D |

| As an addendum to all of you who don't like the (very few) dissonances: PLEASE take the time to listen a little longer. There's no wrong or right in composing (in general, not talking about the SID right now ...) -- it's just about what is interesting and pleasant :) |

SIDwave, thanks for your feedback. As already stated (what's "correct" in musical terms? please don't start with the principles of counterpoint *g*), the dissonances are intentional. But when 2 people say it sounds like an accident, I probably didn't achieve what I had in mind ... when listening to music myself, I expect to be surprised and challenged. Doing this myself seems to be a though task ;)
To cadaver and spider-j: The instruments are in fact much simpler than the previous ones, but I guess I start getting kind of a feeling for the SID, so they may sound more "polished". Maybe a good idea to start kind of "basic", still being new to the SID. I'm just glad nobody is offended by the 5/4 so far :) |

| This certainly has most "normal" sound of your entries in this compo. I particularly like the beginning, which sounds like it has been made way back in the early 80's. The main melody with its unexpected slides is also interesting and rather listenable. |

| If you listen carefully, there ARE different chords (3 of them, IIRC). Two arps don't harmonize with the other voices which is intended indeed, otherwise I would've found it to boring... probably all a matter of taste, as someone also commented on the "rava revisited" that the rhythm at the beginning sounded like errors ;) |

Nice composition and I hear you're making quick progress with sound creation. What I really don't like in this one are the disharmonic arps. Is that intended or did you forget/were too lazy to create arps for different chords?
And even though it was intended, the problem is: it sounds like you forgot =) |
