I haven't downloaded this version, but DO have it. 4 files on the .d64 - kanga dox, kanga, boxes and finally ML..
From the look of my dir, I have 5 versions of this... IF y'all want the files, PM me with an email address. | User Comment Submitted by Goat on 5 December 2014
Does a changed filename really qualify as "being tagged"? I mean, a filename can be changed by anybody without any knowledge (just save it with SAVE"GAMENAME/TAG",8). Is this really the same as putting at least a small text INSIDE the game file (SYS-line, intro screen, changed ingame text, etc.)? | User Comment Submitted by hedning on 4 December 2014
Jazzcat: Yes, tagged filename and Exile confirmed your other two questions (read below). Naturally LXT does not like this. | User Comment Submitted by Jazzcat on 4 December 2014
Was this modified and released and tagged? | User Comment Submitted by hedning on 4 December 2014 User Comment Submitted by hedning on 4 December 2014
Thanx for the answer, Exile! | User Comment Submitted by Exile on 4 December 2014
I did come from me but take the credit for it if you like
Its preserved anyway | User Comment Submitted by Didi on 4 December 2014
Still doesn't make it a valid crack release to me. Just using 2 publicly available packers without leaving any tag besides the filename (which any lamer can change) does not qualify for me. Already stated this below and the new information does not change my opinion about that. | User Comment Submitted by Goat on 4 December 2014
>> Probably these were in the X2010 backups by Mason.
Mason's List at http://www.c64heaven.com/arkiv.zip does not contain the file and the last change of the file was 2014/11/26. So I doubt that Mason had this file. | User Comment Submitted by Exile on 4 December 2014
Oh yes and it was released, but to a select few. Probably these were in the X2010 backups by Mason. | User Comment Submitted by Exile on 4 December 2014
Yes this is by me, found on an american disk way back in 1996. Repacked only. All my 'cracks' have /EXE behind them. Some have trainers, some don't. There are only few off them mainly from 1995-1998. | User Comment Submitted by Didi on 30 November 2014
In case it was done by him, a "Release" implicates that it ever made out of hins hands/disk to someone else. I have several files on my disks which I never gave to anyone else, so they were never "released". | User Comment Submitted by hedning on 23 November 2014
The release was found on Exile's (EXE) disks, so it can be his release. Will ask. | User Comment Submitted by Didi on 23 November 2014
Refering the CSDb rules it surely may be tagged as crack, because it's an "unauthorized modification".
In my knowledge of common scene sense anything without a tag infront (intro, infoscreen, depack-text) or inside (text/highscore modified, SYS-line taged, even SYS-line date modified) is not considered as some kind of crack-release.
But I guess opinions may vary here. | User Comment Submitted by hedning on 23 November 2014
Someone did take care of it once, it seems, then. Probably he/they didn't want to tag it, 'couse of the suckyness of the game. :) | User Comment Submitted by Didi on 23 November 2014
Guess the /EXE tag only means that the game is executable with run now after packing them, because the original was not.
Don't know if packing 2 files without adding any tag inside or infront qualifies this as a "crack." | User Comment Submitted by hedning on 22 November 2014
Released by some "EXE"; anyone knows who this might be? |
