Hell, yes!! This is so nice. Thanks for the story as well. | User Comment Submitted by Frantic on 28 January 2016
Funny how the color clash issue almost becomes part of the visual genre here, rather than something bad, considering how coloring in paper comics can sometimes be a bit sloppy. Nice! | User Comment Submitted by TheRyk on 28 January 2016
unbelievable style, guess a full screen of that would really blow my mind out | User Comment Submitted by psych on 28 January 2016 User Comment Submitted by chancer on 28 January 2016
nice enough, and easy enough to port to the zx spectrum also :) | User Comment Submitted by Motion on 28 January 2016

Nice one, I'm a Marvel comics addict so I know what you're talkin' about! | User Comment Submitted by tempest on 27 January 2016
Oh and I believe the reference material comes atleast from John Romita jr (Daredevil), Dale Keown (Hulk), Todd McFarlane (Mary Jane) and Ron Frenz (aunt May). I can't remember the rest. Riot-E was also handling the X-men franchise, so that's the main reason for having so many X-men characters. I also left out Magneto. | User Comment Submitted by tempest on 27 January 2016
Spiderman Pixx was an ancient pictorial (in one color) mobile game from the infamous Riot-E. I never saw the game, but the coder of the game confirmed it being actually made and released somewhere around 2001. The gameplay consisted of sending a sms message including the name of a Marvel universe character which was slowly being revealed - block by block - to you on your mobile phone screen. What an exciting adventure!
Spiderman Pixx was also the name for C64 graphics collection me and Abaddon were making about 10 years ago. It was based on 11 of these character screens from the game (I ditched 2 of them + the intro screen from this hires pic) and a bunch of Marvel operator logos I'd made for Riot-E. We never got past the intro screen (which actually looked pretty nice). Back then all the graphics were in their original 1 color form.
Last year I was bored and browsing through my old crap. I came across to these graphics and decided to try out enhancing them in hires. What a stupid idea, but I stick to it. I also thought about reviving the old graphics collection project. Abaddon was willing to finish it. But then again, the concept had to be changed and I didn't think it was worth the effort to finish it. So here you have it, in plain hires.
(I can't remember which font I used for the 'SPIDERMAN PIXX' text.) |
