So who's lame in the US?
Napalm for recracking (not sure if they're talking about Napalm or Napalm, probably the latter)
"BFD" for recracking and releasing old stuff. Never heard of BFD.
Atlanta and The Chosen One specifically for his many crimes and fake Impact releases.
All Fucked Up and their "members from Peru"
Hawksoft Inc. for putting out "lame shit" including a "game that can only be played with a light gun" (doesnt look like that's in the Db)
"IRS" - "you should never have re-formed... the original members were the best and have all gone Amiga by now so how were you able to use the name". Is this Importers Releasing Software? Can anyone give more info on this?
"ACID" for recracking and rereleasing. Probably Acid? Specifically he suspects that they recracked/re-imported Troll +. This reference is so obscure and specific that it makes me think the person who wrote this was a member of Fairlight.
Chaotic Software Incorporated and calls out Dragon as being "over 6 months old and originally released in the states by Smugglers of Software (yep, Dragon). Also says they put out a file called "re-crackers", not in the Db.
Not much is revealing about who the good groups are (ATC, Rampar, NFI, FBR, MAY, NEC ("nice job on Uninvited"), TSM, USA, Impact, XDS) except:
Royal Copyright Intruders - "you're kinda lame... Haro (NPN) was OK till you nailed them! But Haro is dead". National Pirates Network? Anyone know what Haro is referring to?
Lists RFO, Agile USA and PYRA as up-and-coming. That would place the release date on this document safely in early 1989.
What I really thought was interesting were the "only 2 good Canadian groups":
Digital Conclusion Association: These guys are BARELY represented in the Db, I didnt even know they existed until last year. "Nice imports, at least they're from Europe and not the USA"
The Nuklear Kids: "now that you have American members you may kick ass". Another barely-represented group, I do suspect there is a lot more to this group than we currently know. |
