The original idea was, sprite background should show the middle part of the scroll enlarged. Because of some buffering of bitmap data (and bugs in the first versions) I decided to take the right half of the scroll to show with the sprites. This also saved some rastertime as well. To be honest, I totally forgot to modify / adjust it afterwards, however I would have enough rastertime to do so in the final version... (-:

Nice idea and well executed!

One thought: wouldn't the expanded scroller look better to be centered with the scroller..? Right now, it's like it's a virtual 640px wide scroller centered on the RHS of the screen. But maybe that was the whole point? I just wonder if it would've been better if it was all centred on the centre of the screen instead..
