@wec: well, to my mind the problem with golden axe is the focus on presentation vs. content on the c64 - the one enemy per screen limitation is an example of this, and indeed one of the major factors contributing to taking the game from the reasonably hectic (at times) hack'n'slash that it was in the arcade, to the borefest that the c64 version is (even in comparison to other versions).

The first tapes were sent out missing a level. Virgin Games corrected the bug, but it was too late as most groups did it a few days after the original release.

I reckon there was some people who did the version with all levels.

So many versions of this game missed the last level. I can't remember if it was just a fuckup on the producers behalf or some wicked scam or what the deal was.

This entry is another reason why the 'oldie crackers' rule!
