I've just added OXP2KOA utility to CSDb:
OXP2KOA

I didn't find similar utility so far and 0xpaint's export options for vice is not working properly on x64 systems (nor does it export image only or did I miss something?).

Homepage gone, but nothing really valuable was typed on it - that's rather strange its contents was not included as readme with program. I've added website contents to SUMMARY.

*sigh* :)

Regarding Java:
The discussion is heated as it is, and no more wood is needed on the fire. But I don´t like Java that much, and I can say with certainty that I won't convert 0xPaint to Java.

Regarding REALbasic:
I've installed it and done some brief testing with the conversion tool. I got hundreds of errors and todo's. It's not as easy as I first anticpated. Also, the concept of MDI (multi document interface) is not supported "as such" in REALbasic. You can add a class with MDIWindow properties, but can't have a base window containing other forms. I'll have to rethink the design if I'm to move forward with this. Normally I wouldn't give this much further thought, and would have continues with VB only. However, REALbasic intrigues me a bit. At least enough to experiment with it further.

@Higgie: Thanks for your input.
* Right mouse button pen bug noted. Will fix.
* Drawing ouside zoom mode. I actually like this "feature", and think the pros outweigh the cons.
* The key movement problem in the zoom window is something I don't get. It works as expected in my end. Perhaps we can discuss that in more detail over IRC or something.

@Archmage:
Believe it or not, but I don't have a mouse-wheel on my mouse. :)
Setting the palette is a reasonable request. Currently I've used the exact palette used in VICE. Whether this is the most accurate or not, I don't know. But I guess not.

@Oswald:
"smelly warm ass" haha.. you've always been good with words.

Anyway...

Good tool! Especially the Codenetoption and the Save as compopic-option.

As a pixeller, what I find myself missing is a zoom by mousewheel (I zoom in and out _all_ the time) and a palette preset menu of sorts.

And can somebody please enlighten me on this: the .kla-colours in Oxpaint seem to differ from those of my original done in Project One, the first being less contrasted in a way. Why? Which one are closest to the original C64? And sorry if the question is a lame one. Believe me, it figures. ;)

@WEC: " I really see no need for OxPaint etc, as Photoshop (cut)"
With the only difference that Photoshop is not free and occupies a shitload of HD space compared to some free and tiny dedicated tool.

hi again!

here are some results of my first round of testing:

first of all: congrats, oxidy! still a great tool. everything i liked about the previous version is still there plus some extras.

some things i've noticed:
- in draw mode the pens apply to the left mouse button only, for the right button the one pixel pen is used. it would be great if the pens could apply to both buttons.

- you can draw outside the zoom window (keep mouse button pressed while moving outside), that's unexpected but not bad if you are skribbling large areas

- the new 4:1 zoom is a big plus! (a keyboard shortcut to switch between the zoom modes would be fine)

- the undo saves my nerves, thx!!! :)

- when moving the zoom window with the cursor keys only the outer rows and columns get updated in the zoom window until you klick into the fullview. but as i normally don't use the cursor keys that way, i don't really care. ;)

even though i found some little goofs, to me this tool is still the best when it comes to xdev pixeling. i enjoy the fact that it is not overloaded with all that fancy ps-style filter layer voodoo. ;)

@E.S.: Yes, it is. But I realize that it would be much better if it was the current picture, and not the latest save. I'll make a note and modify.

The BMP to sprite converter does not include the current picture, but relies on the saved version on the disc. Is that correct?

Other than that an ok editor, unlike the previous versions it seem a little faster, or it might be the computer upgrade.
