Thanks to everyone for the constructive
criticism, the comments, and the
exceptionally high votes. Many of you said
you had to view the picture
several times until every detail was revealed
and recognized - to me this is
something hard to grasp and comment on,
because I spent ten days laying down
every pixel from my mental image and know
every bit of it so intimately,
knowing each part for what it really is. But if
it really does reveal
something new on every repeated viewing I
guess that is terrific. :_)
In regard of taking insult, I never take insult
because of criticism or
votes if that vote or criticism is backed up
with a reasoning/explanation.
What drives me mad is when dickheads
dash out downvotes just to show how
cool they are.
A few thoughts about the picture:
The essential meaning is a portrait of the
apocalypse in a surreal way. The
title "In the end of everything..." does not
mean I am some depressed prick
who is tortured by some love lost, it means
travelling to the end, a point
of no return, where there is nothing but a
huge fucking darkness... Everyone
thought the world is flat until Galilei spoke
the truth. This is the basic
concept, portraying space as finite... The
elephants represent destruction,
a form of power that destroying everything
around you... and the little girl
with the umbrella is humanity, a life form
and way of life that has no
escape, no way out, but reaching the very
end and trying to turn back...
with no chance to do it, because the whole
world in front of her is falling
down...

.. agree with that, what Jailbird said! at first appearance i was thinking WTF is this? ... then I saw first details and found more and more! indeed a clever technique you used here. keep it comin' Leon ;) | User Comment Submitted by snerg on 20 December 2013
At first I thought discworld has crushed as the four elephants legged it because of a baby elephant, naughty. But that was yesterday. Very inspiring, thank you for this. | User Comment Submitted by Shine on 20 December 2013 User Comment Submitted by jailbird on 20 December 2013
Had to watch it for a few minutes to realize what's on the picture, and I've found new details, shapes, forms whenever I re-checked it. That's why I had to wait a bit with my review. I'm still wondering about its message... An inspiring and thought-provoking piece, that's for sure. And it's technically really impressive as well.
Very interesting style you've found for yourself - kind of a mix of impressionism, symbolism, naïve art and avant-garde. I'm wondering what will you bring out of it on a long run. | User Comment Submitted by Stinsen on 20 December 2013
Really, really awesome! Gets my arachnophobia going though (for some reason) and I find the choice of music a bit odd... :) | User Comment Submitted by The Shadow on 20 December 2013 User Comment Submitted by v3to on 19 December 2013 User Comment Submitted by HCL on 19 December 2013

Once I had dreamt about this scene. It was brewing in me for a long time to put it into pixels. My own work, no copy. Thanks goes to Clarence for the quick code support.
Oh, and press spc to hold... ;_) | User Comment Submitted by DKT on 19 December 2013
Leon, you have to put your lately released pictures in the collection. This one fits perfectly to a demo, also. One thing: the picture is moving to fast (I can't calmly look on your genius brush ;-) ). |
