Magnar: Sure, would be interesting to hear it. :) And yeah, autodetecting and compensating (as far as possible for 6581, I know the filters can be all over the place) is a good idea. I did this for the Super Bread Box title music (which is the only track in the game that is using the filters).

I made the music to fit 6581, but had to change all the filters the last few days before Nordlicht when I was told the demo would be running on 8580 compo machine. Therefore, the filters on disk side 1 will be kinda crappy if played on 6581s. I can toss out a separate SID version if anyone is interested. Maybe also for the future, I will ask the coders to check what SID-chip it is and load in different song.prg's. We have talked about it, and we even have the "Check of sid chip" code ready, but just never got around to implement it. Something to put on the list for the next one. :)

Cool demo that came out of the blue! Some amazing visual parts, Joe's graphics is amazing in this one. The Insert Disk-part is very cool. Interesting musical theme on the 2nd disk. The jumping cube with the music part felt like it was taking 1 MHz to the limit. :) Pretty cool how the soundtrack was tied together with the Vortex-tune in the end. The only real nitpicking was that some of the music didn't sound too great on my ol' 6581, will check it out again on a 8580 soon though.

Great demo in every aspect , of course not better than Comaland , but Immensely enjoying like we *alaways* get used to Censor Design productions. a side note: i think the rotate filled cubes are out of passion 25 yrs ago after Origo demo (which i don't recall his name atm) but in the overall: super cool demo , and great work from all of Oxyron'n'Censor design. Turn disk part by Swallow has taken the 8 bit samples together with sync'n'chord effects to the limit.

It has proper sequencing of the music, sampleplay, sync effects etc. That part just has everything in it and laughs at sideborders.

I wonder might one add vibrato on the sync sound and chords on that? Anyway, SID control registers get proper beating on that part.

Just insane!

Why is there even a "coherence discussion" on this demo just after someone have used so much time and effort to create something so mind-blasting and so time-consuming and innovative code demo is beyond me today with my life and all!

To the creators of this demo I can only say: WAY TO GO - YOU DID A SUPERDEMO! Friends having a blast and you just did it! To do something and do it good is the greatest gift of all - that force to present something instead of not presenting something is the strongest force in some of us on the scene!

Respect - out of the blue it came and on the blue screen it will rank high... Thanx!

about the coherence discussion: imho this point is mostly focussed just in case of illustration and probably soundtrack in this scene and nothing else. oswald is right, esp the abandoned 'indulging moments' could have been a total coherent demo experience. but atm this is a standard that still does not exist on this platform. at this point demos are still a compromise - in pace, design and fx.

@HCL: the x/y coordinates and colors are animated to the beat there :-P For the rest, have a look into the zeropage.

Nice production, but with alot of reused effects as it seems. Joe makes it all look fabulous and quite different from before :).

Side2 is quite interesting with the music-driven approach.. The note says "alot of timed effects".. Is the vector-cube also timed? Can not be.. unless it is animated perhaps?

One positive thing is that this demo feels like *only* 2 demos that were put into one, where as Comaland felt more or less like 4 demos :P. But i guess that's what you get if you decide to go the Mega-coop-group road that seems to be so popular today..

Probably some the most advanced code to date, but also a lot of reuse/improvements to existing routines. Joe's graphics works well with the theme, but I can't help thinking I've seen those robots/skeletons before ;-). Side 2 doesn't work for me, although technically advanced. Love the switch disk part!

Pace on side 2 could be made higher, but as the song loads new samples and songdata whenever possible, the music also needs to be included into the memory management. It uses memory that could as well be sued for preloading parts or running effects from. So Changing the music affects all the parts as well to some extend. That is why the track and a timeline was created beforehand and then things were filled up with the effects and gfx, usually we (oxy that is) do it the other way round. So also we were in uncharted waters somehow :-D

I liked side 1 the best... really cool with the extra stretching... it make it feel like something really like no other... Great code in this demo. I also think the gfx are very nice now and it suite them so good to be in lots of colours like they are... SUPER DEMO!

The CenOxy co-op strikes again! Really powerful demo with great coding, gfx and music.

I liked pretty much everything, the added bitmap stretchers to various effects really make em look extra special.
And interleaving filled dithered vectors with thcm's soundcode is really a big achievement.

Adding Joe and LMan to your line-up is really working well. Though I do miss Mirage a bit.

Didn't expect such a great 2-sider so soon already, you guys are seriously active :)

Censor's best work since their comeback IMO. Side 1 has that special Censor atmosphere that's hard to nail down.

Side 2 is of course impossible to believe :-), but the slow pacing also makes it rather apparent that this really is the machine pushed close to its current physical limits.

Also, Fantasmolytic but no Fanta?
