One thing I especially liked part from the animated work, was how the dithering was following the curved contours of the main image in the opening.
It's very consciously made. | User Comment Submitted by ThunderBlade on 10 January 2011
Great collection!!! But weird.. it doesn't start when you use Action Replay reset and then "Configure Memory"... Seems it lacks the zero terminator for the Flip Disk string :) So ideally, to be sure it works, do a "DIM A(7777):NEW" before loading :) | User Comment Submitted by GT on 15 October 2010
Nah Kristian. Mine goes in the same tempo http://noname.c64.org/csdb//release/?id=33645
Could be an error when you or GRG ported it to SDI (1997), due to the changes in the editor and player, the tempo has different initialization. | User Comment Submitted by Kristian on 15 October 2010
Sorry for messing up your tune, Geir :)
Actually when I heard Tropical funk for the first time I put on the wrong speed in the editor. It went one or two notches slower than it does here. IMO it sounded nicer that way, but that's probably just me. | User Comment Submitted by GT on 15 October 2010
Seems like two of my worktunes has been finished off by GRG and Kristian. But nice work. :)
Tropical Funk - was done in GT-Editor (1992). It's a cover of, exactly, Tropical Funk by Lee Ritenour from the Album "Color Rit" (1989, where also Bahia Funk features, great album). Kristian and GRG have continued from 0:44 around'ish (jamming part, really nice).
Pepita was a crappy (imo) worktune I did in 1996 when SDI was about to be finished, coding while in the army. Was testing out the tempo conductor 4th. channel thing. GRG has done the jamming from 1:00 onwards, quite nice actually. But I never thought this tune saw day of light until I discovered it hidden in a bass-amp in California/USA. The Line6 Lowdown 150 and 300 amp. Ironically I was visiting a company where a guy previously worked at Line6. I thought there were lots of SID tunes in it, but it turns out that this is the only one in this amp. When I came home, I had to call GRG and ask what all this was about. LOL. :)
PS: I left the amp playing that SID tune in the store with a funny looking staff trying to figure out where that sound came from. :)
oh, reason why I knew about the Line6 thing was the DSP engineer guy had put out instruction on the net on how to start the hidden SID tune. Hold buttons A+D while powering it up, I think it was. Hilarious. (I was working in the music bizz back then - small world).
PPs: around same time, the Line6 Spider came out (guitar amp), same DSP engineer guy (true SID fan) included dozens of SID tunes in it. But updating the amps software will erease the hidden emulated 6510 & SID code (yeah, he did his own emulation of the SID and the 6510). Blow me! LOL. | User Comment Submitted by Kristian on 1 April 2010
I have no idea anymore to be honest. Heard through it again now and couldn't find anything wrong with it, and since my first post on this matter was so long ago I have no clue what was wrong then.
Just forget about it :) | User Comment Submitted by SIDWAVE on 31 March 2010
Ian: im thinking that Kristian R has a better/more complete version of that tune. but he too lazy to send it to us.. | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 31 March 2010
What does it mean "mucho messed up"? and which downloadable version? | User Comment Submitted by Kristian on 31 January 2009
The downloadable version of Lounge is mucho messed up. | User Comment Submitted by der_ton on 26 December 2007
This is a real gem!
Minor crits: These great graphics shouldn't fade away so quickly in the intro, and the long list of music should be numbered or sorted in some way, and should be self-proceeding to the next song. | User Comment Submitted by HCL on 3 August 2003
Also check out the ultra-khool graphics in this prod! | User Comment Submitted by Steppe on 1 August 2003
Wow, this one has a very fine selection of SID tunes that drive the SID to its limits! One could be provocative and say: Throw away all your music collections, this is the only one you'll ever need! Outstanding!
And ready.: Mekkasang is not the only tune not in HVSC 5.3, there are a few more. But how should they, a few were done exclusively for that colly. I'm confident they show up in the next HVSC update. :-) | User Comment Submitted by ready. on 31 July 2003
Nice collection, it has my favourite sids. There is also a sid not in HVSC 5.3: mekkasang by GRG |
