Works on 1541 Ultimate 2 as well. ;) | User Comment Submitted by e5frog on 20 December 2010
Ah, so you had to keep track of it manually. Nice that you managed to solve it - great tool! | User Comment Submitted by enthusi on 20 December 2010

However, it's not explained HOW I did that. The idea is simple enough:
I check for the 16 bit adress to be FFFF and then see if the currently banked in bank has all bits set. If that is the case I manually (outside of autoload) count up the banks and continue. The problem was of course to keep the timing for the pulse widths accurate despite additional dynamic code. | User Comment Submitted by e5frog on 20 December 2010
Great work! Good tool for the Ultimate that doesn't have any tap write support yet. How did you solve the 512kB problem exactly? | User Comment Submitted by enthusi on 20 December 2010
This tool masters a TAP image back to TAPE from REU memory expansion.
Since this version 0.2 any TAP size can be mastered (see production notes for details).
First get a TAP image into your REU. This can be achieved quite easyly with the 1541 ultimate by renaming GAME.TAP to GAME.REU.
Then launch the tool (or vice versa) and follow the instructions \o/
New in 0.2 as well: rough estimate of mastering time.
Note, that some original games require NO cart inserted during load or even NO IEC drive connected.
Furthermore I encourage you to master recent releases like:
A Load of TAP ,
UWOL - Quest for Money [tape] ,
or Nanako in Classic Japanese Monster Castle rather than creating fake originals of former dumps.
Enjoy,
