Awesome and original! Really nice work.

And, yeah, no need to struggle with Sprite Y when you can just stretch them all the way down.

You're right would have been a lot easier...
No multiplexing and filling only the first sprite line is a huge benefit.
Took me 10 minutes to adapt my prototype version to use sprite steching.
