Never mind the hypocrites, its a very nice tune. I recall some of the greatest composers on the c64 (Rob hubbard anyone?) shamelessly covering other real world tunes and getting away with it.
There is no shame in covering a tune you truely love.

Ok, no problem. Won't compete with covers again. It was a fault, and I am sorry for it. :( But you live and learn... | User Comment Submitted by chatGPZ on 17 May 2006
@arman: thats somewhat the same thing as with graphics. come up with your own motives please. innovate not imitate! | User Comment Submitted by Intensity on 17 May 2006
Fanta, hmm, maybe you are right. I will think about it... | User Comment Submitted by Fanta on 16 May 2006
no, i don't think that's all what counts. although i never was into covers at all, it's of course a challenge to do it properly. do as much covers as you want, release them in demos whatsoever and get your applaus. but a music COMPOSITION compo IS a challenge. so... as long it's not a cover compo, competing with your own ideas is the better way. also, this is a question of pride and dignity. atleast for me. | User Comment Submitted by Intensity on 16 May 2006
Still the crowd seemed to like it on big speakers, Fanta. And that's what counts in my opinion. Furthermore I think covering a real life Track on the C64 is some kind of art for itself. I really enjoyed for example "Castles" by GRG which is a cover from Castles in the Sky by Ian Van Dahl, and also other covers, especially if the covers are made good. It's just nice to eternize Tracks - and especially popular Trance-Tracks - on the C64.
It would be nice to get also feedback from others here even if this is not the right place for it, since I would like to know if it will be really "lame" to publish covers in compos. | User Comment Submitted by Fanta on 16 May 2006
competing with a cover is lame imho. sorry | User Comment Submitted by enthusi on 15 May 2006

This is a well done sid conversion !! Good job! | User Comment Submitted by Intensity on 14 May 2006
This is a cover from the legendary classical Trance-Track of the 90's "Redemption" from RMB. Listen on a real C64 with New SID Chip or 8580 settings in Sidplay2w, please. Have fun! :) |
