We tested HerMIDI 2 weeks ago with Werdy's Waldorf Bloefeld, and it worked perfectly, so it's added to the surely compatible devices' list...
(Anyway, I have parts for 10 HerMIDIs to assemble at hand, so if someone can't build it for himself/herself, I can build and send one... ) | User Comment Submitted by Hermit on 16 February 2014
HerMIDI is now proven to work with CASIO CT-640 synthesizer. However, this keyboard relies on 'running status' very much, it sends MIDI status-bytes only when it's really necessary, and sends only note+velocity bytepairs for a long period. This means that you need to do a little preparation to ensure the notes are caught by receiver.prg or SID-Wizard. Either:
-Turn the CASIO on AFTER enabling HerMIDI in SID-Wizard.
-Press any control on the keyboard (e.g. instrument-select) to cause a proper full note-on message which will ensure proper processing of the upcoming notes.
(This can be the case for some other keyboards, and this is probably true for other MIDI-cartridges, not just HerMIDI.) | User Comment Submitted by WitchMaster on 14 February 2014
Such a nice add-on to SID-Wizard, now it works great with my keyboards! :) | User Comment Submitted by Hermit on 13 February 2014
This is an improvement/fixing update for HerMIDI 1.0. Now it's more compatible with many MIDI-keyboards and synthesizers due to the implementation of the 'running status' feature which was missing until now on C64-side code (HerMIDI-C64.asm).
No change to the hardware at all, the PIC hex-file and the PCB is all the same fortunately.
Read README.txt for more details. The well working tested devices so far:
