Very nice remix/cover! It certainly deserves better than #23, but I wouldn't take it too seriously. The music compo at X2010 was quite *extensive* to say the least.
Although it fantastic that we get many compo entries, it makes the voting a hassle. I have yet to see a voting system that can handle many entries. Perhaps voting *during* the compo would make things easier. Also, making a quick recap of the entries (10 seconds each) after the full run through, would perhaps make voting easier and more fair.
At Datastorm I had a hard time getting the name of the artist (which was announced prior to each entry). And without this, it is impossible to vote... (Some SIDs of course show the composer's name.)
In the end, voting is a subjective opinion. But with some improvements to the compo arrangement and voting, contestants could have a more fair chance. | User Comment Submitted by Motion on 11 February 2011
At the beginning, this is the single "You Got the Love" from 1986, by 'The Source and Candi Staton'. | User Comment Submitted by Zenox on 11 February 2011
@Jammer: Perhaps because very few people at the party knew me personally. I probably just got a vote from Rambones and maybe Kaze of TST. I wanted the tune to be longer and have more variation but I never got it done. I just wanted to release something and I barely made it. The voting results don't matter much to me. I'm just happy that it finally got out and that people seem to like it. | User Comment Submitted by Jammer on 12 October 2010
how did it land so low, even below knoeki's one? maybe it's quite monotous, but definitely deserves better responce. | User Comment Submitted by Zenox on 4 October 2010 User Comment Submitted by Zenox on 4 October 2010
Thanx sander. Yeah I always liked this one but it never got out. When I made this tune, I had actually never heard the original song by Soft Cell. I just heard this unknown house cover of the song and I had lost the tape it was on. I made it because I liked the song (the lead) so much. It's probably not correct because it's done from memory and I had no idea how to find the song but I wanted to hear it again. | User Comment Submitted by Sander on 4 October 2010
Zenox/Starion.. Man, this X was even better then i realised on the spot. Lovely tune! | User Comment Submitted by SIDWAVE on 4 October 2010
Very good remix! that you are able to remember and use a music editor after 20 years, with no further problems, and polish this tune of, is just a wonder. |
