I'm seeing some bluedot underneath the scroll and above the scroll in right border something flashing, looks like a fistful of cycles wrong ort sth. All in on new VIC and real CRT (Sony Trinitron with and without overscan/full border).

Pro-Tip: Use the full border modes in VICE for cycle exact timing in $D020 area and always new VIC for grey dot issues

Anyway, a nice one!

Edit: Ah, just have seen pretty much what I reported is already in "Goofs"

That's not how the internet works Groepaz. You should know better.

WE the united WIN-VICE users of the world want answers, no we DESERVE answers – NOW! Why didn't YOU, yes YOU (!) implement the correct real machine behaviour already in WIN-VICE 3.2?

And while we're at it: why was WIN-VICE 3 even necessary, when you could have kept WIN-VICE 2.4 and call it a day? WHY?

*scnr*

why it doesnt work in 3 year old emulator is really completely irrelevant. the question is "does it work on the real thing?" - and only if it behaves different in the latest emulator, then there is a problem that needs to be investigated.

i would like to know *why* with the now available version of the demo, the in my eyes perfectly valid code produces such a visual bug in x64 Vice 3.2? Does that mean, if i in the past struggled with timing insanities, it could have been my fault for trying to sync things in an emulator?? I'd love to see a forum thread elaborating on this.

There are 5 cycles lost on x64.
if you patch the old code from $6891 to $68A4 it's works.

Please mind - updating files is not an option. New version = new entry.

Hey, the important thing is that it should work on real HW (it does, right?) =)

I did a mistake, used Vice 2.4 to fix the border opening routine and did it wrong. (-: Revised in Vice 3.5 and also in Vice 3.6, now should work fine correctly. Wrong file removed and a new one uploaded, sorry for the inconvenience.

Please don't take this 'demo' too seriously, my goal was only to save this old one-file demo that I created in August 1993. Several bugs fixed and 2x4 scroll routine completely rewritten and optimized. Logo and charset also original, created these in 1993.
