well the source is fan art after a fashion, it a vector trace of a film still. so in effect i copied a copy :) never the less all 3 are accurate enough to be labelled as disney snakes :)

I thought it was derivative work based on derivative work of some fan. But if it is just a derivative work based on an original work, then all is needed is to credit it somehow. Which you more or less did in your first production note. Ok for me.

I haven't been "caught" doing anything in reality. My very first post on here says the snakes are disney snakes. the fact the actual source head is a vector trace of a disney filmstill doesnt make it any less a disney snake. in exactly the same was as i would have no cause to bitch if someone traced my snakehead and credited it as a disney snake.
if you google image search "disney snake" or "kaa snake" then both the image used AND the filmstill it was traced from will appear (see the comments page). both are in reality, disney snakes.

There is a problem with plagiarism of design of the head (and having request for permsission would be cool), but apart from that, it is a whole new artwork created around the head. It more or less goes along the famous saying: Bad artists copy. Good artists steal. In my opinion, STE did a good job of creating a cool artwork, and he did a "bad job" of being caught stealing.

Apart from that. I think that Ptoing should apologize for fiddling with STE's pic (and putting it in the comments thread), and STE should step down and accept the fact that in the process of making stuff, one should always keep in mind fair use (request for permission) and all those things around art.

the snakes in this were heavily influenced by the fantastic and highly comical disney snakes from Jungle book and particularly Sir Hiss from Robin Hood.

They were exactly what i had in mind from the moment i began this screen, which i felt needed to stress the "fun" aspect of the game rather than the box covers sci fi aspect.
