Ja vel? Suprising. Cool. Good you didn't release your new hit in a "boring looking" release like this! ;)

Edit:
Plea Ease is very good, and I don't find the pitch-bending disturbing at all. Thumbs up!

Real nice release. A lot of good melodies inside. The key for DRAX is melody. Thumbs up!

Fantastic. "Handle It" is great. And I disagree that the detuning on "Plea Ease" is too slow/far. In fact I really like it.

Hell yeah, this is what I'm talking about!

Love most of these tunes. Excellent melodies - some of them are like maid for whistling loudly at work.

Great work once again :)

I just love this release, it is so cool to listen to your tunes again... would want much more of these... about the detune... I do not really care as there are so much greatness in these... thanx for releasing it... if you are like others I know that holds like 300 tunes on their harddrive you should make a lot more of these releases... and yes... mother I am coming home now.... I just think that HANDLE IT could be a instant hit produced the right way for the masses with a star singer on top and drums and all the works like the timbaland rip-off tune were... it is such a song.... I am totally into it after just some few seconds... that is the best.... it is just fantastic! "normal" (not us here, but the others on the globe) people would love that tune if it were produced the right way for their ears...

the familiarity of your music nowadays gives me a coming home feeling, which is always very nice. Might not be your best, but still very good and fun to listen too.

Thank you all for your feedback - it's so nice to get some feedback - I know this music isn't that original or innovative.
@Rough: Funny you say that about listening to it a couple of times and starting to like it - I have got alot of that kind of responses to my music lately... I tend to think about it as a good thing eventhough it is not defining a hit ... as hits works instantly :D

A Maniacs of Noise release in 2011. GREAT! The 64 scene is really strong these days.

@Drax: What I enjoy about your "new" (1994-) tunes is when you listen to them first time it's like "hm, not bad, hm, nothing special, nice bla" and then when you listen to them more and more it's like "wow, this is truly great", getting into the tunes proves their quality.

(listening to Zub by Whittaker right now, this is an unknown killer gem, high volume and yeah...)

Really nice release and music for my taste! Drax's tunes never lack structure and melody. Indifference and Plea Ease were my favs in this one. Thumbs up!

Wow! Some excellent tunes here :) I really like those rich chords you use. I don't play the piano much (just got one), so that doesn't come naturally to me when I compose. The detune people mention sounds great to me, it's definitely a matter of taste. I think it just brings a wonderful tension to the melody. Like something one would play when improvising on the guitar.

I think it really is a matter of taste. When I heard the 2nd detuning FX I did realize it's on purpose, and IMO it's well executed. I mean I couldn't imagine it as faster/slower...maybe the slide should have been delayed a little bit more...
I did a similar slow detuning over steady chords in outro part of SRA music collection, and it must have been for some reason too.
My fav. from this small colly btw is Indifference and Dreamy. I'd be glad if I could learn some composing techniques from you Drax. You may have seen my thread

C64 scene seems more like alive recently for sure :)

Nice one, Thomas! I got to listen to some of them at LCP when Cruzer asked me to try to optimize them for the CML-demo. Obviously I failed spectacularly. :D Your music, however, is classy as always.

@PAL: now when I have had the chance to listen to it a few times - the detuning doesn't really sound that bad - and is of course done on purpose... I guess it is perhaps more a matter of taste... Thanks for feedback!
@Kristian: yeps, you're right, not my best :) ... This is more a collection of some work tunes I had that I decided to pack... I have tons of these tunes lying... I might release some more of them in future instead of just letting it collect dust... I the meanwhile I might concentrate on some more serious compositions... :D

A nice collection of tunes. Not among your best, but definitely worth a listen or five. "Indifference" has got to be my fav from this collection, though the arpeggion-section in "Handle it" is sweeet.

It was a solution to fix it and upload a newer version. An other solution is keeping it buggy as it is and then be taught a lesson - never to compose with headphones with too high volume and do always check on real speakers before releasing (DRAX = stupid!) ;) ... And now enough attention paid to that detuning ... :D

ohhhh... I thought there were something wrong here so yes.... but cant you just upload a new version of the demo... or can not Groepaz accept that maybe? it is really a shame with rules like this on here! Create a new release then with the tune fixed! That is the only way these dudes will accept it even I were the only one commenting on this one!

I really love the production but just think there is something wrong in that tune so just create a new entry when you have fixed it instead of even bothering to try and alter this one! The admins on here will never accept that change anyway I guess... so create a new entry and that is that, end of story and no more energy wasted on that even though you just wanted to give the world some more to love!

@pal: thanks alot for the positive words... Plea Ease is not a cover - all are my own compositions... I did a version of Plea Ease in Renoise once - maybe Geir has played it for you :D ... Actually Plea Ease is a tune I composed on piano - at least the main theme... I normally get the ideas by playing on the piano and then improvising a lead on top of it by singing... it sounds awful when I sing :D

I certainly don't hope it is detuned - but I do have some strange portamento that makes it detune a little but that is on purpose... I better check it out tomorrow without headphones and hope I don't get any surprises... Oh, fuck... just heard it on my laptop speakers... that portamento thing sounds more strange than good is... Damn, I should have double checked!!!!! FUCK!!!

ohhhh..... love it! music with a purpose and strong melody and feeling too... I think it is called composing? right? Not just sound porn.... even it is soundporn but inside something greater in my mind... oohhhhh... this is very good! Handle it is really nice demo tune! Will listen to the whole collection more in the morning... nam nam... indifference... ohhh..... Blue should have been in a demo part too... man the music is insanely cool!!!! Drax ftw!

PS: plea ease... is this a cover, I just think I have it from somewhere? It can just be it is me? but I really think I have heard that one before? Not that it is less because of that... but also I think there is something wrong in it, I just do not want to bring it down but sometimes it sounds just abit wrong or false is that the word? in a way...
