Except some random Koala doodles from my teen years this is my first shot with C64 graphics (and a well-taken lesson about how to do everything in wrong order), pixeled during couple of sleepless nights mainly with Timanthes - which crashed only once during the process :)

Main idea for the picture popped out from urge to add something new to the original theme, so I decided to bring in Rambo's asian female contact from the original movie and tried to capture a peaceful moment from time before hell breaks loose. I didn't made any sketches but started picture from zero making some rough guidelines and continuing with positioning contents to correct places - not a good idea as I found out a bit later.

Nothing in the pic is wired but I suck with drawing anything living so I had to use external material as an reference for

- large palmtree (needed some help with leaves, original material cleaned, simplified and overpixeled)
- people (mainly to get their stances right, most of the pixelwork is done by me)
- and Rambo logo (modified, scaled and adjusted from DVD cover source)

Everything else have been done completely from scratch. POW camp is actually 3rd revision: My purpose was to make it much more bigger and detailed but coping with HiRes limitations was a real struggle and I just couldn't make it look right. 2nd attempt was just somewhat smaller revision of original one but after another miserable failure I decided to choose a path for heavily toned down and darkened version with minimal details which finally worked. Unfortunately all the workstages are gone for good.

I think there's lots of things that could've been done better but in general I'm pretty happy with the outcome as it goes quite well with my original concept.
