"I have attached several starter files for the Pre-release of DMBBS v5 Series into the public domain. In addition I have attached a few key scanned images from the original manual that should assist in configuring the bbs. Most, if not all, of the screens are the original screens released with the bbs when it was a commercial product. These screens can be edited to your liking. Currently, I am working on further stabilizing the code, making changes to the user log so it doesn’t request the current level of personal information that it does, as well as working on a revised manual. No estimated date of completion has been set but it will be at that time that the source codes will be released. I have also included a handful of the old mods but all the good ones are protected so I am currently working on mapping out the code so I can remove the protection as I only had the key file to run a couple of them. Here are a few quick tips but feel free to email me if you need any assistance.

1. To get started run the system create program.
2. It is not advisable to have the system seq files and the userlog on the same drive. Weird things to the seq files tend to happen.
3. If you have a ramlink or cmd HD you will find the bbs very geared towards running on those devices. Best configuration is to have a separate partition for each section, system files, userlog, menus, libraries, subs, uds, and each respective mod, etc. Else try to separate these sections as much as possible across multiple drives paying attention especially to suggestion #2.
4. When configuring the bbs it is best to run it at 1200baud. It is not swiftlink compatible but it will run at 2400 with the exception that it tends to throw in random characters due to what appears to be a problem with the buffers.
5. Once the system is created to load the bbs load the start program with just the drive letter, no comma 1.

Good Luck!
